I realize the developers are pounding away on Dominions_3... I was just wondering if we could get a quick ballpark estimate from them on the next Dominions_2 patch.
Just a quick 2 second response using ballpark figures below.

Will it be:
A) Within the next two weeks
B) Within the next five weeks
C) Within the next nine weeks
D) Within the next twenty weeks
E) Within the next forty weeks
F) Current global spells prevent any future Dominions_2 patches

H.) Profit!

Honestly, I'd expect a patch in the 'near future'. If that's not good enough I can say that while Dominions 3 does take the bulk of IW's time (outside of drinking and womanizing) they have been working on a patch for Dom2.

So apart from the 'retreat during assassination' issue, what other major bugs remain?
Do we need another patch?

Illwinter will probably be fixing some dominions 2 bugs for dominions 3. Might as well release those fixes as a patch for dominions 2.

Some bugs still in dom2:
1. Tartarian gate screwiness.
2. Aquatic commanders dieing when retreating on land.
3. Similar item bonusses adding together somtimes. A nataraja with a dwarfen hammer, hammer of the forge lord, dwarfen hammer setup gets a 100% forge bonus http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

Bane Venom Charm giving infinite experience, stacked domes misbehaving, mages mass-murdering fellow commanders with Breath of Winter (should only be cast if all friendlies are cold-immune: a tac-AI bug), scripts not being followed for no obvious reason, "Molesting the Dead" errors, undead becoming diseased, and various other things in the bug thread. I usually see a bug in each game, but they tend to be pretty minor and / or difficult to repeat.

I think there were some issues with the oceania mod as well.

MORE castles ???

Atm, it does not build castles at all. Never. Nothing. Nada. Niente.... .

(It does find castles from sites quite well, though.)

As my tests have shown, it doesn't even need a new troop building algorithm - it only needs castles.

And more castles would even help with it's supply problem ..

We never received a reply from the developers but... since the new patch is out.

** The correct answer was A **

Please note that this patch finally addresses the following longstanding bugs:
retreat during assassination
destroyed local enchantments sometimes still displayed
retreating unto land for aquatic creatures with an Amulet of the Fish
as well as the recently-reported 50-mod limit. IW deserves thanks and encouragement for their work on our behalf. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yeah, I just lost a retreating commander. My priest probably would have lost to the 23-attack 20-defense dual-firesword Abysian prophet-slayer, but you never know! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Seriously, I'm glad that bug is finally quenched.

There's some nice new modding commands in there too, and the updated mod manual should be available soon as well.
