If I bid high for a mercenary, but lose the province where the mercenary was supposed to show up, I do not get the mercenary. However, does the next highest bidder then get them, or do they just return to the merc pool?

Thanks,
Merry

Merry Jolkar,

Your attempts to gain information are fruitless. Surrender now and save yourself from the ignominy of certain defeat.

Good will defeat evil.

Also, if you are the high bidder, do you pay what you bid or just one more gold than the next highest bidder?

Curious,

Tibby

Whoever controls the province will get the mercs, I believe. Don't hire mercs in border provinces if you can avoid it.

You pay the price that you bid.

The mercenary group will vanish from the game if you lose the province where you tried purchasing them... and I'm quite certain you still pay the price too.
