The FN-Fal has an HEK of two. The R-1, identical to the FN-FAL in every way, has an HEK of three. The G-3, another battle rifle with the calibre of 7.62 mm Nato has an HEK of three.

I know the L1A1 was semi-auto only. But lots of people used the FN-FAL on full auto.

Why?

The R-1 is 2 in my OOB's, The same as the FN. I assume you are looking at the SA OOB weapon slot 7??
There was some debate internally about those numbers, yes it may seem odd that the G3 gets a 3 and the FN gets a 2 but trust me, someone would be unhappy if it was the other way around too.
It's one of those " we need to draw a line" issues and thats how this happened

You are right, on the default orbat the R-1 has an HEK of two. I can always change it to three in the custom orbats if I want. Then this is one of those 'designer decisions'.

Genuine, I can live with that.
