View Full Version : Multi-Player Mini Scenario - Any interest?

I got this idea from something done over at the SPWAW Depot a while back.

I am thinking of creating a very small scenario that would have a team of players for 1 side and a single player (maybe more) to play the OPFOR. My intial plan would be Korea with a multinational company (3 players) defending against a massed Chinese (1 player) attack. Map would be 60x60 or so. Maybe 12 turns max. With turnaround times of one day per player this would make it a 30-45 real day battle depending on how fast everyone can get their turn played and then forwarded on.

To reiterate the importanace, this game would require everyone to play and forward thir turns fairly quick or it will bog down and kill the whole project.

So at minimum it would require 4 players total. What say you?

This should be great,

My only concern is that I will have to make 2-3 short trips in the month of July and I don't know if this will delay the other players.

As soon as I know my program I will contact you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

cheers,
Pyros

Hey I was doing some research and found Greek troops assigned to the 7th Cavalry of the US 1 Cav Div in Dec 1950! I think there were Brits, Canucks and Aussies assigned to 1st Cav also. Hmmm.....

Before you guys run off, let me clarify. As a player you would probably only play 1 turn every 3-4 days. The one day turnaround time would be you getting the turn out of your mailbox within 1 day after you receive it and on to the next player, not a turn for YOU every 24 hours.

I haven't tried it with the new version BUT it was no problem in 3.01. It was still secure in that version but depending on the new security features it may not be possible now. I guess we will see. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Anyway, what I will need is 3 UN Players and 1 (maybe 2) Chinese players. Then we can start.

OK, here is the planned format.

Korea
December 1950
Chinese Assault
UN Defend (US, Australian and Greek) with South Korean Reserves (AI Controlled)
Map 60x50
Winter Terrain

I think this thread should be moved into the "opponents wanted" sub forum - as it is not really support related,
it's a request for a bunch of folk toplay several battles http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

If there are no objections to that - I'll shift the thread there shortly.

Cheers
Andy

Here it is!

Chinese come from the West over the river. UN forces will be deployed to defend the high ground and villages on the right side of the river.

What you have is the remnants of 3 companies (1x US, 1x Aussie and 1x Greek) from the 1st US Cavalry Division trying to maintain a blocking position against a large Chinese infantry assault.

I have a volunteer for the Aussies.

Would you like the US, Greek or Chinese forces?

Current Roster/Applications

Here are the current Command selections and the forums they made their request to participate from;

CHINA/NORTH KOREA
Chinese (OPEN)

UNITED NATIONS
United States (OPEN)
Australia = CIMMERIAN (Blitz)
Greece (OPEN)

RESERVE or NO FORCE selected as of yet;
IVANPOLKOV (Shrapnel)
CZERPAK (Blitz)
WIGAM - (Blitz)
VESKU (Blitz)
JADPANTHER (Blitz)

Do you have the download version? That is all you should need. The CD is not neccessary for what were are trying to do. It will essentially be a standard PBeM game but with multiple players.

Yes, I have only the download.
So I must have misunderstood the manual
about the difference between e-mail and tourney.

Please put me in as USA.

Thanks.

Send me an email with the email address you want to use for the communicating about the scenario. I might be able to work you in on the Chinese side. I might need 2 commanders for them.

I have the UN Deploy file back and have been adding in the Chinese Forces. Currently I am running some quick playtesting to make sure its as even as possible. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

I am also writing up the briefing text for each side.

I could use another UN Commander or 2 if anyone wants to jump in.

Is that the file I sent to the team or did it come from Cimmerian after he completed his moves?
