I try to do a new type of dynamic campaigns using the original systeme of editing:
-it is in order to simulate an attack against ennemi prepared positions.
- there are X maps following themselves
- if you achieve a victory on map 5 BTW, you will play the map 6, if you achieve a defeat, you will play on map 4 you achieve campaign victory when reaching the last map.
-every units have 20% chances to appear, so that you can play twice the same map without getting bored on it...
Not perfect but I want to know if somebody is interrested in that.
I precise I will not be able to respond before one week...

If you are going to do this, then you are probably best to not use a slot just after the issued ones - there already exist some conflicts with low slot numbers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif - plus any "issue" campaigns we provide later will advance from the current end, as we cannot allow for any third parties who simply use the next free slot ID.

Try say 20 or 21 or thereabouts?.

I'll look into a campaign slot re-numbering utility later, if I get the time, but for now, It's probably best to use a higher slot number that is still on page No. 1.

Can campaigns be renamed like scenerios?

I'm making a campaign for slot 21. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Actually, I didn't realize there was another page of campaigns. I'll move mine back to 41 or something as I've only made the map for the first node.

No - Campaigns cannot simply be renamed, as data on the original slot number is held internally.

There are 999 campaign slots, but many folk simply seem to use page 1 and a slot right after the issued scenarios (Which will tend to grow upwards).

So I'll try to get a campaign slot shifting tool put together at some point, and maybe add the facility to install a scenario and renumber it if there is a conflict found as well.

Cheers

What I would do is just make sure you let whomever is going to download the file know it wil overwrite any already in that slot. Maybe add a small "readme" text file to the scenario/campaign zip BUT getting them to read it 1st before diving into the game is always a problem. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
