I'm playing a generated Horn of Africa campaign using an motor SAS section. One of the weapons listed is something called an RGGS (#22 in the weapon list). It looks like some sort of short range (3) HE/HEAT weapon but I've never heard of it.

Any ideas. Google has no clue...

Thanks! That's strange, I'm getting all kinds of hits with RGGS now but not before on Google!

So what's happened to the UGL? I thought the RGGS was a misnamed UGL.

The Under-barrel Grenade Launcher.

It's a 40mm grenade launcher similar to the M203, entering service in 2003/4, to replace the 51mm Mortar. It can fire HE and Smoke.

The UGL can be considered represented by the RGGS. In game terms, some sort of rifle grenade dual-purpose, it does not really matter if the thing is a bullet-trap RG or a 40mm single-shot GL. Saves probably a dozen duplicated rifle sections (and hence OOB slots) which would be functionally identical.
