View Full Version : "Doubling" an existing global

Just to be sure : if someone casts a global enchantment and I try to cast it also, I think that the casting is resolved as if I try to dispel the existing one (die roll with opposing additional gems + caster level as modifiers). Then either it fails and I get nothing, else my global replaces the former one.
Can someone confirm I'm right (or else what happens) ?
Thx

yah, i've had a global dispelled the same turn i've cast it, by the competing copy of the global cast the same turn.

Had that happen to me as well. That's one of those "bang on the table and scream noooooooooooooooooooo!!!" moments. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Thanks.
Additional question ; how many additional gems do you usually put in a GoH by mid-game (turn 45 or so in a not-so-competitive MP environment) ?
So I'd adjust my casting http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Heh. While I was the lucky one to override someone else's global spell the very same turn the other player cast it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

grmbl, I would put at least 300 gems to be sure that no evil Man nation that has enough globals anyway can override mine... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif

But well, I can't let a neighboring Miasma Ctiss having a GoH on... Why do you think I've put a Mother Oak some turns ago ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
