They've got L85A1's at best, maybe even plain old L85's.

and to cap it all their guns don't have foresights.

Is that old stuff given away by the Royal Army?

They already got some German Gepard SPAAGs, which drove them into refusing a batch of Leopard2, because German stuff was so hard and costly to maintain!

Now what about the reliability of early L85s? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Royal Navy
Royal Air Force
British Army

(Something to do with the army siding with Parliament in the civil wars, I think http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif! )

Sorry for that Andy, such things are too subtle for me!

Anyway the question was understandable, wasn't it?

Hey, what about the other Crown armies? There are RCN and RCAF, RAAF, RNZAF, etc... Do these follow the same rule?

Sorry for my disastrous knowledge of British matters! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

There are no "rules" - the RCN probably got the "Royal" designator as it was originally considered part of the RN, and so on.

Individual army regiments do have "Royal" designations, for various historical regimental reasons.

IIRC the Romanian Navy received those L85's as loan-ers from the Royal Navy while in port - they were returned prior to the ship leaving. Apparently the Romanian vessel did not carry small arms on board.
