Say, anyone know if Starfury and/or SE5 support untextured but colored ship models? In other words, suppose I have a model which has no UV-mapped .bmp texture file, but instead has vertex colors defined inside the .X file - will the colors show up in the game? (Yeah, I could try it myself, but that would require installing Starfury and messing with the scale factors so it actually appears properly and all that business, so if someone already knows that would be handy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

edit: oh well, problem solved... did you know Starfury supports *translucent* ship models? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

How does this work? Lack of a texture makes the ship invisible? or does coloring it only have some sort of see through stain glass effect?

Translucent ship models? Just create a ship model with only colored materials and no textures, and set the materials' alpha channel to something less than 1.

It might be possible, after all ships with no textures come out as grey, which may be a default when no colour/texture is provided?
