Hi

I would like to host Dominion2 on a little used PC that I have but run the client (for me) on my PC. This would allow me to host a TCPIP game. Will I come up against licensing issues with the key? The host would literally just host.

Also in terms of resources if noone is actually connected is the hosting quite low on resources - i.e can it run in background?

IIRC, host's cd key is not checked. That means that a player can both host the game and play in it.

And I think DomII will happily run in the background, actually generating the new turn after all players have played their turn can be quite resource-incentive.

I have exactly this arrangement - I run a dom2 graphicless server in the background on my linux router, and I connect and play my turns from my Windows box. It all works fine. My router is an old Pentium 233MHz, and it takes about 45s of CPU time to host a turn (we're on turn 43 so it's pretty busy). It uses no resources at all the rest of the time though (apart from a tiny amount of i/o when a player connects or disconnects).
