My buddie picked a battle and sent me a zip. I put the two files (eml) in my PBEM folder. Start the game from the PBEM menu. I get to enter a Russian password and continue. I then see the game screen with a bombardment of the West German forces. When this ends I get a WG player enter password screen. I have to fail this three times to get out to the menu.
I sent those files, they worked fine. I get back files, I start movement phase. I didn't get to deploy but it is a scenario from the disc.
What did we do wrong?

For one thing, as far as I know you need 3 game files, not 2. Also, did both of you make sure you copied the save files from the PBEM folder, not the SAVE folder?

Junk2Drive... your buddy set the game up wrong. Try again
Narwan.... WimSPMBT does not use three files it uses 2. We got rid of the AUX files that were used in the DOS versions

Ahh, okay. So we've been sending a third file for nothing!
Guess I should read the manual someday.... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

The ***IS*** no third file generated in WinSPMBT so IDK how you could possibly send it! There ARE AUX files still in SPWW2 but that will change when it's converted.
WinSPMBT only generates a .CMT and a .DAT file. Two files per game. Not three

'Cause I've got just one PBEM game going and there's four files in the folder now, 1 text, 2 DAT and 1 CMT. We've been sending each other the 2 DAT and the CMT files. Out of habit I guess. But indeed only two of those files have the game slot code in it. Should have been a dead give away but you know gamers, they think they don't need the manual and can learn on the fly! That's me for sure. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
