I figure that currently Starfury is the only way to test models for SEV. My question is what files and how do you import them into Starfury...? Or is there another program I can use to test the .X files....?

The DirectX SDK has some mesh-viewing tools, but the SDK is a rather huge download (>200MB)... LithUnwrap is known to support .X as well, but if you're using my Wings->X exporter there seems to be some sort of issue with the files that LithUnwrap can't read them...
To import the models into Starfury takes a bit of work...
1. copy campaign 1 to a "testing" campaign
2. place your model in the XFiles directory and its textures in the Images directory
3. edit Main_XFiles.txt in the campaign directory, replacing Terran_Destroyer.x with your model's name and fixing the model radius and model scaling fields as appropriate
4. run Starfury and start your campaign

With Lithunrap, you don't need to use the Wings X exporter..just save as .3ds and use lithunwrap to save them as .x.

How do you use Lithunrap to view the files...is there a demo?

Basically I found a program that will take Star Fleet Command .MOD files, and convert them to .X files...I just need to figure out what files I need to transfer, and if they work...if this does work out...I will have a wealth of models I can use for my Star Fleet Battles mod for SEV.

Ok...dl'd demo of Ultimate Unwrap 3d (lithunwrap)...it with the .X plugin...allowed me to 'import' what appeared to be the mesh for the .X file I created...but there were no visible textures related to the .X file...it says they were but the UU3d didn't display them...it also had a plugin for .MOD files, which did view the model in all its glory...Seems like a good program for the price...

Also what format does Doga export it's finished models in? The UU3d website had a list of about 50 plugins for different formats that it would import and export in...

Ultimate Unwrap 3d and lithunrap aren't the same thing. UU3d is a later version that's for-pay. Lithunwrap is free.

DOGA exports in..hmm, I'm not sure actually.
