So you can set the game to any resolution, but the game is unplayable at anything higher than 1024x768 because the text and icons are so small. That's disappointing and all too common in games. It shouldn't be like that! Its not that much more work to plan ahead of time to be resolution independent.

I bought a copy in spite of this glaring and most heinous omission. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Also, OSX! Linux!

Eh? I run the game fine at 1600x1200, sounds like you need a larger moniter or some reading glasses http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

yeah, it looks fine to me at 1600x1200 on a 19" monitor. the demo on my laptop runs at 1024x768, but thats only 14".

Damn Puke, the text is going to be even smaller on your monitor. So I took another look, the text is about the same size as on this forum w/ anti-aliasing. So maybe I would just prefer game text in general to be larger. I'd also like to see the artwork(cool stuff) better. I'd like to play the game at 1280x1024 with the layout and sizing I get at 1024x768. Some numbers(aprox):

19" 4/3 1600x1200
12.16" x 9.12"
131.6 DPI

17" 5/4 1280x1024 (my LCD)
10.4" x 8.3"
123.5 DPI at 1280x1024<- nice res
92.6 DPI at 1024x768 <- good size, blurry, scaled rez

14" 4/3 1024x768
8.96" x 6.72"
114.3 DPI

hmm. i write in small characters too. maybe im not a good source of advice on the topic.

edit: I like LCDs alot - especially for reading because refresh rates are alien to them. but even the best ones just aren't as sharp as a quality tube. some fuzzyness will come from there, but naturally that has nothing to do with size.

For what it's worth, I run at 1920x1200 on my Dell 2405, and the game looks fantastics.

Thanks for adding native widescreen resolutions!!

Puke, I know what you mean about the refresh on a CRT. I used to get headaches sometimes from reading black text on a white background. But I think you've got that backwards on sharpness, the LCDs are always going to be sharper in their native res but CRTs display color more acurately.

Oh yeah, those are nice faust. The DPI on a 24" 8:5 cinema display is 94.3 though, so the text is a good size on a screen that big.
