I bought the game. I quickly wrote my own mod for the game, however I noticed that everyone is talking about a version 1.2 (red planet mod readme file). How can I get this new version?

Will this new version change the way my mod plays?

How can I control adding planets in a mod (I've tried adding new names, does not work.)?

Thanks!

Are you sure the 1.2 wasn't the mod's version?

The Red Planet readme does indeed refer to version 1.2 or above. Red Planet, however, is Hugo's mod for Strange Adventures in Infinite Space (Weird Worlds' predecessor). You should in fact update to v1.5 if you are playing SAIS.

Of course if it is SAIS you are playing, these forums are not really relevant (being dedicated to Weird Worlds).

In either case, I recommend the Infinite Space Federation forums (http://s7.invisionfree.com/SAIS_Forum) for anyone interested in modding (both for Weird Worlds and for SAIS). There is quite a lot of activity in the ISF Weird Worlds modding forum, and you will learn plenty by reading through the existing threads.

I was hoping to catch the eye of the developers by posting here. I am a developer myself. The answers I have about the game could only really come from the source.

I say this because there is no real FAQ about the game engine out there. There are some FAQ's but I figured out their content just by playing with the super pirate mod. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

rgathright,

I'm the programmer on WW and SAIS. If you have mod questions I'd recommend the ISF forum Shadowcat linked as it has a mod section for SAIS.

You can download patches for SAIS at http://digital-eel.com/sais/ . I think most SAIS mods are made to work with SAIS v1.5 as it's the last official version.
