You know, having an item that instakills and can be used once for every battle is a bit much. On top of that, It's very rare that I play a game that doesn't include the gong.

I'd like to recommend that instead of an instakill, that the gong does a range of damage that may instakill a medium ship but won't instakill the biggest battleships or the black hole fortress.

Or, how about the five furies target up to 5 ships indepenantly, but gang up on a ship if there are less than 5. Each fury doing a certain range of damage.

It just seems so cheap that you always have a instakill in your pocket. At least the klackars require payment.

It's the "five furies," so maybe it should be limited to five uses? I honestly thought it was limited (wasn't it limited in SAIS?), so maybe a limit would be a good thing.

As a recent convert to WW I have to agree. I was very surprised it was NOT a single use item considering it's awesome destructive power and the way the furies helpfully target the largest ship in an armada!

Making it single use would be the simplest option imho.

Good point.
Maybe the furies' power should be lowered a bit. And the damage should be distributed to the whole enemy fleet (each ship should get weighted damage maybe).

Or maybe the furies' power could be divided by 2 at each use, until they become feeble and useless.

Or... each use increases the chance that the furies turn against their current owner. lol.

or that it be limited to one use per system.

I just defeated a massive demolisher armada by jumping in, furying a ship, jumping out, repeat.

Definitely cheap when you can hyperdrive / fold.

There is at least a rumor that you don't get any points for enemies blown up by the Furies. I haven't tested it myself, but since reading that I've used the gong a lot less.
