Is the soundfile used ingame for the H&K G3 accurate or not? Are there any better ones out there?

Unless the sound is specified it is a generic sound file chosen by the game based on weapon class, warhead size and HE kill and is not intended to represent a specific weapon

No I found a way to edit the soundfiles using mobhack, the edits only work for new scenarios and since I only play new ones (homemade and edited old ones) the sounds come out fine. That is why I am asking which of those files is better.

In order to do so just open mobhack, select a unit, find the weapon stats for that unit, where the soundfile option is type the soundfile number then save the changes. Create a new scenario (a test map with the specific units on it is best) and play the test map the sounds will play. If you want to implement them on other maps the only way you can do that is to delete the units and start again (this takes time and serious preperation).

The sounds the computer picks are totally off the wall anyhow btw.

People, this is a real question so please answer it. I was watching the TV (History Channel) a few days ago and they testfired a G 3 Combat rifle (on full auto) and it didn't sound like the game's sound effect so anyone who knows about the sound files or anyone who used to be in the Bundeswehr (I know there are some of you here) please help me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/stupid.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rant.gif

not all the sound files in this game match exactly the weapons in real life, just have to live with it or go find a "real" sound file and use it in your game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
