I began a new mod : STEEL NAPOLEON !
Like STEEL NAVAL, it will be a way for players who want realize scenarios about this period.
I have adapted some icons I found for this hisorical time (Mod SPCW for SPWAW)

Each unit will be a batalion, and they will be concentred in regiments(Section in WSPMBT) and divisions (Companies in WSPMBT)

French language is no ncessary for playing the mod, and you may translate the little "readme" with an automatic translator (like "REVERSO-free", awailable on Internet)

Unfortunately it is impossible download MOD " STEEL NAPOLEON ".

This links is a old links and does not work. The future version of "STEEL NAPOLEON" ("STEEL EMPIRE 2.0 - 1800-1815) will be awailable probably in september this year on my personal page here :

Heck, you could make a good Franco-Prussian/colonial mod with this stuff. EXCELLENT WORK!! VERY INNOVATIVE! How did you sort the infantry out?

A "beta-version" of the mod is awailable on my personal page (see the given links below)
There is 4 class of infantry : line infantry, light infantry, Guard infantry, lignth Guar Infantry
Most of the icons were given to me by a designer
(FlashFyreSP, I thank him http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif), and I modified some. I integrated these icons with Shp Editor and Mobhack.

Generaux = 255 has one reason : with this Parameters, human player can not use the game-play tactic to not fight ennemy units and to go directly to kill ennemy generals... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif But if necessary, you can use cavalery or guns and give them lot of "supression point", so they will be "pinned", "routed" or "retreating". General units do not represent THE general, but all the "commandement line" : it is difficult to kill them, but easy to give them suppression points. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Just an idea, but would it be more realistic to camouflage the Generals instead? Use a quite common icon, and name, so that the enemy could not distinguish between Generals and other HQ units or cavalry or whatever.
Not sure of the details of this. As maybe pressing "I" would reveal true identity, but perhaps there's a way to hide him.
Another way, may be to make the General very difficult to spot. Make him a one man size 0 unit with excellent experience or whatever keeps him hidden. If he rides within musket shot of Sharpes Green Jackets he deserves to get killed ;-)

Hey this idea about Napoleonic Wars is great! Hmm whatever happened to that US Civil War mod for SPWAW? I heard that it stopped a long ago but has anyone tried to continue that (maybe convert into WinMBT environment too?)...

Good suggestion for invisible generals (hiden). But I will do that only for IA generals, and after "test-time" of the mod.

(Difficult to win for human player, who has to command green forces.
Note : I search somebody to translate the readme and french names of the oob in english (in a little separated word, txt or excell file)
After STEEL NAPOLEON, will come : "STEEL ANCIEN BATTLE "(probably perhaps end 2007 or Feb 2008)-Icons, OOB ans sounds are in work :

The mod will have special sounds, special weapons (i.e : panic in infantry when elefants attack,etc...)
STEEL SOLDIERS is not in "abandon" but will come later (this mod will be very nice to play, with "special operations commandos",etc..., but not very nice to mod, because there is no technical difficulty : it's just "basic" work, exotics mods are more exciting at first )
Concerning SPCW : the mod continue on SPWAW forum, by FlashFyreSp, who has given to me the icons he has worked on for STEEL NAPOLEON.

But I think it will need some times because his mod is more important than mine (more precision,etc...). After the release of SPCW mod by Flashfyresp, I will ask him the permission to take his work anf try to adapt the mod for WSPMBT.
If SPWAW civil war mod becomes in "abandon",(but I think it will not, FlashfyreSP has worked on lots of very nice icons) I will ask to him to give me his work and I will try to continue with WSPMBT.
