View Full Version : AI Challenge

Since PhilD's challenge was quite enjoyable (win against AI dwarves on Trinity Isles using any one type of undead unit), I thought I'd come up with one of my own:
Win any scenario vs the AI using only Plaguebearers (the Afflicted unit). You can choose the map and the AI race. Have fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Did it... Clover Valley, vs Dwarves, going first.
Only 3 cities of your race, but that doesn't matter as your recruitment limit is mostly gold. Gold mine on the way to the fight helps, too, plus Dwarves don't have healers, and their cities have only 18 Influence.
But that was a fun one. Plaguebearer is probably my least loved unit http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Nice one - I thought vs Dwarves might be a good option. I won vs Afflicted on Zeke's Pass.

OK - vs Afflicted, it was much easier (the AI never managed to take a second city - Zeke's Pass is horrible on the AI)

Yup, that's why I chose it. I put the challenge up to see whether there were any other possibilities.
IMO, Zeke's Pass is pretty horrible vs human players as well - I'm pretty sure that it would be easy to find some unwinnable race matchups there.

I don't know about Zeke's Pass - at least, multiplayer games on it don't last for hours with a predictable result, like they do on Lazy River.

Won against AI Random race (Orcs) on Zeke's Pass.

Orcs is probably the race the AI is worst at - instead of expanding on Raiders, which pay for themselves while influencing cities and are not bad at all stat-wise, it concentrates on building the second-level unit, which takes 3 turns to influence a city.

Fine. Won against undead on Aldron's Cauldron. 8-)
