Just considering purchase, or at least download, and I was wondering how many people were playing multiplayer at any given time. Since this game lends itself to "blitz"-style games, it seems important that a number of people are ready to play when I am. I did enjoy the demo as far as it goes, and am wondering if the new demo patch will be released soon so I could see the multiplayer lobby for myself.

Unfortunately, not too many people are playing in the lobby right now, but hopefully the patch will help that.

The new demo (and main-version patch) is in beta-testing now. I'm not sure exactly when it will be released, but my guess is 2-3 weeks, with the full-version patch probably coming a little sooner.

Most times when I log into the lobby, I find it empty. What I do is run the game in window mode, and do something else like surf web while waiting for someone to show up (and not quit too soon when I fail to quickly accept his challenge or reply to his greeting).

I managed to get quite a few games this way. Not the most of any online player (135 to Brian's 173, way to go), but I suspect Brian and Zemsta of being buddies, since Zemsta seems to only have games vs Brian http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

But yeah, unfortunately the lobby is empty most of the time. Or at least, it is empty of anybody but me while I'm in http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Hi PhilD,

I will be probably available for online gaming between 21:00-24:00 GMT+2 (Greece).

Whenever I will become available for online gaming in the LOL lobby, I will post here a note. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

cheers,

And I hate to sound like a broken record, but for people like PhilD who are awesome enough to wait around for a game, the game will be much more accomodating of that once v1.20 is released. Rather than having to constantly alt-tab back to see if there's been any activity, the game's icon will flash on the task bar and you'll hear a sound whenever someone else logs in, chats, or challenges you.

So PhilD, your life is about to get that much easier. Thanks for your patience! =)
