I'm not too sure any more, but... what was the number of the DomII version that came on the cd? Was it 2.00, or higher?
Still, we can always hope... and listen to the Tune of Dancing Death and rage rage rage while waiting for the game.

With Dom2 there wasnt the watchfulness so they might have gone abit past 2.00 and gotten away with it.
Johan has been reading these threads and I dont think he would put 3.00 unless he meant it to mean what everyone was expecting it to mean. He wouldnt be that mean to us would he?

All right, here I come just checking what's new with Dom3 (I haven't even preordered, 'been following it extra loosely for months, and was expecting an October release so I could get this as a birthday present from my girlfriend)...
And now I'm hooked again. And what's worse - today is my VERY FIRST DAY BACK TO WORK http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
I hate you all.

Start accruing that PTO, man.
But, if its any consolation, we hate ourselves http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Get fanatical man. As soon as Dom3 releases we must all spread the word of its glories.
Personally I plan to visit some linux sites and pitch the incredible text-mode hosting interface. So much power, and so easily integrated into web sites. I wish more games did it.

c'mon, Shrapnel.... Where's the Gold announcement? Or are there things for which we still have to wait?

They always started a thread for each version. It didnt always mean that anything went in it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif It also tended to collect comments like "WHOO HOO, look what got added!" or "I tested that last bug and its fixed now"

I estimate the two developers have stopped programming stuff and are now spending their time hunting for bugs/balance issues. {{edit: In fact Johan and Kristopher are probably planning a big DOM_3 Lan party with their friends this weekend... what better way to provide quality game research and have a great time!!))
By next monday I estimate they would have found and fixed a few issues and sent the final version to Shrapnel on Tuesday for them to mass produce onto CDs. The earliest we'll see Dominions_3 arrive is early September.
I would love to see the DOM_3 Modding and Map Edit Manual via pdf. /threads/images/Graemlins/Hammer.gif

I would be very surprised if the development page for Dominions 4 gets posted. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

It would be funny if the beta forum would be opened to public after the game is complete...could give at least me something to do while waiting for october 2nd. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Is October 2nd a special date?
Ooops... nevermind... I read the other thread.
So, now there is some muttering on the forum about having a short PBEM game to get us through the final hump. Any interest?

Quick Dev Question...
I haven't noticed any updates recently... is 3.00 the final version or will we see 3.01 and possibly more updates/fixes ?

Final! (that's what 'gone gold' means)
But there will be patches and updates of course.
