A small eulogy for a worthy foe:
Rest in peace, Ygorl the Moloch, you deserved to die a lot sooner. Soon, after a Wyrmly digestive cycle you'll be but a pile of turd, that you always were: some things never change! Wyrm eats Moloch, shark eats bear, I beat you, the cycle of nature goes forever on. /threads/images/Graemlins/icon25.gif

Momma Pasha, you wanna be next? All of a sudden a place on the menu freed up; no more can you hide behind the glorified bat with your taunts and insults.

Ygorl
June 19th, 2006, 12:09 PM
I guess you teleported in at the last second, eh?

Too bad; now I won't get to wear the Wyrm-busting gear that I built this turn!
Ah, well...
And, I expect you'll be dominion-killing me? That would make the cycle you mention especially poetic...

Bah! It amazes me how such fecal blather gushes from both of your mouths! Your actions and threats prove the urgency for all Land Nations to unite and flush you back to the sea. It is unfortunate that Ulm's lands are now soooo Fouled by you. /threads/images/Graemlins/Poison.gif /threads/images/Graemlins/icon49.gif /threads/images/Graemlins/Poison.gif You're toxic FILTH. /threads/images/Graemlins/Poison.gif /threads/images/Graemlins/icon49.gif /threads/images/Graemlins/Poison.gif The unfortunate folk of the Ulmish Plains deserve our help!

No no no, it's Pan who is toxic filth, invading my peace loving lands and bringing war to a non-violent race of spider worshippers. /threads/images/Graemlins/Peace.gif
What precipated this act of aggression? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif All of my spider lovers are tending their wounds, planning violent dreams of reveng on the "holier than thou" white horsies, who think they are unstoppable.

Once Fortu returns to the battlefield, WATCH OUT, because he's pissed!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/evil.gif

(And if Pan mentions something about me starting this war, he's making that up... would I lie to you all?? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif )

Oh no! Maestro Jurri has enslaved the mind of Machaka! How terrible. I don't know what delusion he has cast on you, Shmonk, but no doubt he has concealed his claws behind an illusion of Pan Aggression as his fingers wrap around your undefended throat and his facial tentacles casually extend toward your ears. Cast off his wicked dream, Shmonk! He's gonna suck out your brain!

War is a terrible thing Machaka! I know you attacked me because you knew I am by far the weakest prey in this game. You are a predator looking for the old and sick.

I got lucky in one battle and now you are talking up my handful of valiant, pure of heart, quite old and fragile White centaurs.

Are you doing this so your master, R'lyeh, can go about his evil ways while people are afraid of a phantom in the south?

A hamfisted attempt at slander if ever I saw it.

I hope Fortu comes back soon and sees the errors of his misguided life, and we can all dance and frolick in your lands. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I'm sickened by the propaganda of plump Pasha Mama and his buddy Steerpike-a-little dittle, fanboy extraordinaire of the "northerners". In no way shape or form am I the puppet or mouthpiece of the hated "non-land" dwellers. As we all know, spiders and water don't mix, let alone spiders and squids. I am an individual, and not being led by anyone (or anything, for that matter).

In Fortu's finite wisdom (not infinite) seeing the water mongers tackling the weak Ulmites, he thought to follow suit by "tentatively" looking at Pan, who came out of nowhere and is now taking over my lushless lands. We are saddened by this shameful act of war. And slander does not enter into this picture in any way. Retaliation, YES, that DOES come into PLAY here.

Fortu cometh, prepare to meet thy end. /threads/images/Graemlins/Envy.gif

Perhaps, you should forgive him, Ygorl... Jurri's probably sucked out most of his brain by now... Hmmmm... he probably walks with only 3 out of 8 legs now, too. How distressing for the rest of us!

Another example of the evil of the Wicked Weener and his Water Foul Puppet Master.

Paashaa... You blasted inbred whore of a *****! I'm going to need to use an extra thin straw to suck your brains out. Even then I fear the pleasure will be a short one.

I think it's clear to all that the only puppet here is Pangaea: Why else would he choose to let the Fat Witch of the West live another day and instead opt to slaughter some harmless bystanders in a senseless act of maniacal rage? I don't know what dark secrets hold him in your thrall, but I hope to find out before it's too late: I can't believe Chuck to be rotten to the core.

I knew it, you'd see my comment and find the 1 species of spiders that likes water, out of the hundreds that don't. We spiders/scorpions are so misunderstood. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rant.gif

Ulm, bring it on, let the water foul give you a "last fighting" chance and come down south and say that to me. You are weaker, I'll outlast you at least. So thus, you are weaker than I am (and your excuse of getting ganged up on by 2 water nations doesn't hold water). Okay, that might have been tough, but I probably could have done the same thing (okay, maybe not, but I didn't have the chance to prove it, so I will say that I can).

Beware, Fortu cometh! And if you wait 1 more turn, Mr Steer-harpy-loving-pikemeister, you'll find out for sure. I ask you - nay, DEMAND - you hold off on any further advance into my lands, or suffer his chastising of your little horse-men (he may have to put a few over his knees, and he has 6 of those, and might cause your "army" to scatter in fear). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Fortu is a bad, bad scorpion King! The question is how many Afflictions will he have when he comes back? He could be blind or feeblemind!

Perhaps you should save your boasting till after you triumph. And for your information ALL my troops like a good spanking and if you single out my centaurs for such treatment, you will cause a lot of resentment amongst all the others. Be fair, you have enough legs to go round!

Alas, poor Ygorl.

He put up the good fight though, outstanding resistance. Fortu wishes he could shine Ygorls boots, hmmmph. Ygorl withstood the two most powerful nations in this game for 8 or more turns. You have folded like a deck of cards to one of the weakest of military nations in the Game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

June 22nd, 2006, 01:43 PM
Shovah, you have dispatched Ygorl the great! Rejoice in your power! I dont hate you water dwellers, that is Pasha Mamas particular bent.

Myself? I have been descibed as a minion and a puppet by the likes of you and Jurri. I am indeed the lowest of the low. Fortu thought I was an easy kill, and maybe he is right. However I have only attacked when I have been attacked (save for Caelum who was just begging to be annexed).

At the moment its all up in the air, who knows maybe you, shovah, will find this an opportune time to break your pact with Jurri. We land lubbers are mighty ill equiped to invade water provinces. Save for Jotun perhaps.

Pike

Shmonk
June 22nd, 2006, 01:51 PM
I know what you mean, since when is Pan one of the weakest military nations?!?

I think Steerpike is saying that because you 2 were the first to go to war with somebody (Ulm). Thus you are the 2 strongest nations. I'm surprised Jotunheim is not upset by that statement. Or even Pasha Mama. So who took out Caelum, wouldn't they be considered the greatest nation since they were the first to conquer someone else?

And I think "folded like a deck of cards" is not quite accurate. Maybe "took 1 step forward and 3 steps back" is a better analogy. I'm down, but not out. Yet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

well actually i did very little in the taking out of ulm, my initial (pathetic) advance was halted and from then on i didnt do too much. I'd definitely say jotun ranks among the top, he has large amounts of amazons, vine ogres, devils, giants, thugs and a couple of neifel guys aswell as plenty of versatile mages (national and otherwise)

Darn tootin' straight he's a class A thug. No afflictions, just like I predicted (hoped for, more like it). Then he goes thru your army like butter... okay, maybe not like a hot knife, but destruction was dealt out, a lot. Then he hit the 50 turn limit and retreated into enemy territory to die a horrible death (dummy, he didn't listen to me). Heck, just watching that battle I saw him get 1 experience star halfway thru.

So, I was down briefly, but as you can see I'm not quite out. Just wait until round 3. Da pain, da pain!! That's what your satyrs will be saying. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Pan, lacking respect? You know nothing about that, my sylvan friend: you should note how me and my aquatically advantaged buddy have received nothing but ridicule and threats from day one! Your troubles are small compared to the bias we face in our everyday lives, and it shames the League of Whiners to see you try and hog all the sympathy with your unlicensed outcries. Fellow Land Lords and Lorddesses:

The overt malevolence of the Water Foul and his puppet, Weener, is painfully clear to us all. The Water Foul has plunged his filth deep into Pangaea. The Weener has commenced a surprise attack on the peaceful Giants of the Northern Wastes.

It is TIME to FLUSH them back beyond our shores! It is TIME to give them the MOTHER OF ALL SQUISHINGS!!

Pasha Mama is READY! Let the Squishings begin!! Onward!!!!!!!!!!!

(To tell the truth I never lost a Vastness to a bunch of fire snakes either before this woeful turn... Curse you and yours, Shmonk!)

Also happened:
-Jurri the Wyrm lost his mind under unclear circumstances. It's yet unknown whether he will ever recover fully.
-The gargoyle Stonebrow got crippled and maimed, in a word shattered by the Pan-brutes.
-The notorious assassin Ctenophoros met his demise when he lost his nerve, turned tail and fled from the attempt to slay an Arcoscephalean fancy-boy called Epistor.
-The second skankiest whore on the planet, Shuhleettabuffay, met all the folks she had wronged in her horrid past on the field of battle... and prevailed!

Huh, some not-so-fun battles... Like, Pasha Momma apparently died to autorout in an assassination: not cool. And I'm not sure I appreciate those elf shots: if MR negates, MR 24-25 should block virtually all of them. However, already two such creatures with high MR have died on them. The first one had a shield, even, meaning that the odds should be heavily against the elf shots to both hit the target (despite the 15 precision of the sprites) and do harm. It was pretty funny how the AQ happened to lose the shield arm on the first attack that managed to hit her, though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Other than that, nice resistance on all fronts, dudes! That centaur commander is another lucky feller, avoiding his fate against insurmountable odds.

But, you can be the luckiest bastard ever for all I care: inevitable doom awaits your meaningless existence despite you whoring yourself to the wrinkled old Lady Luck. One can but wonder what she makes you do to favor you so... Undoubtedly your long experience in pleasing the poor Pasha Momma serves you well.

Jurri

So it seems. Could be that fighting simultaneously against three opponents distracts me more than I'd like to admit. Well, Chuck and Fortu and a couple hundred vine ogres are not a small loss either, I'd like to hope. Maybe Shmonk will finally stop struggling and just die a peaceful death... Fortu was a badass and I couldn't beat him on the field, but in the end nothing could save him from my ire. (In hindsight, maybe it wasn't so smart to arm him so well after all http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif) Those nearly thousand kills will keep him at the top of the HoF for long after Shmonk is but a memory.

Shmonk

Yea, well, Fortu is dead. I've gone AI (only capital left, really). Jurri was nice enough to equip me for a bit, but in the end he realized he couldn't go toe-2-toe with him either, so he resulted to Mind Hunt (chicken), and after resisting many many attempts (more than humanly possible, I bet), Fortu succumbed.

It was very entertaining, that's for sure. I expected to be out a long time ago. But I guess it was fated that my first attempt and tackling another "little guy" (Pan), turned out to be a minor misstep.

I look forward to the updates on this forum, and learning when Chuck and his kingdom falls, which should be next (I'm guessing 10 turns) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif. And how Pasha Mama fares. Good luck all!

Well, before Pasha Mama died we were able to capture some of the immense (and positively vile) flatulence she routinely let off, in a Bag of Winds I graciously supplied. This had a remarkable effect on the Air elementals that were trapped in the Bag of Winds with mama's whoopsie !

We wern't finished though, for thanks to the Capture of the Amon Hotep headress from one one of Jurris Air Queens, we managed to Mummify the greatest of these Ghastly Air Elementals, the result...well you will surely see the result first hand Shovah.

And we will all weep for a world gone mad enough to unleash such a nightmare upon a helpless world!

That was so huge a fluke, that I'm not even going to give my usual whine/boast.

Really, that was possibly the biggest fluke I've seen in dom2. Until this the winner was perhaps when mages started targeting mechanical men (mindless =immune to mind spells) with mind burn and enslave mind and such, but this certainly takes the cake. Words fail me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

(Actually, I am quite pleased how luck is working in my favor.)

PashaDawg
July 20th, 2006, 02:10 PM
The fluke... it was that one of his commanders with a nice artifact (Nathgul... or however you spell it) decided to blink which gave my mages a chance to zap him and take the artifact. Yay!!!!!

Jurri
July 20th, 2006, 03:10 PM
I'm not entirely convinced that the stupid jar is the culprit, though: all other spells it casts are shown normally (Nethgul has cast ...), and in this instance no message was shown. Also, the description of the thing clearly states that it will cast spells on enemies. Also, I for one have never seen the [censored] thing act like this before. Usually it just casts enslave mind, enslaves a critter that later dies and causes a rout. Guess this time it figured out the best way to piss in my porridge would be teleporting to one of the very few dangerous places on the battlefield, outside the fort and next to a dude with a wand of incineration. (The aforementioned enslaving wouldn't have caused a rout in this battle. Instead it would have slowed down your army a fatal step or two.)

Well, be it as it may, I'm through caring. Good riddance, and hopefully the [censored] jar of stupidity loses as many battles to you as it has for me. I don't even mind losing the fort due to the fluke: you need all the handicap you can get!

Which is why they would be excellent anti-tramplers if they were properly equipped since the damage in trample is based on the size difference, and the golem can cast body ethereal and luck innately. Too bad for Pasha, Elephantman is the biggest, baddest, mofo of a trampler ever, and yes, you've heard of him. Although you really should have scouts all over so you could bear testimony to my glorious exploits firsthand http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Haha, I will show you a nasty SC when my Air Queen wallops something next turn. Nothing will stand against her http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

She is my only one though so it will be pure luck if she catches one of your tartarians.

I had scouts there so I saw your glorious exploits Jurri and beleive me I have learnt a lot in this game, pity it will most likely be my last Dom2 game.

That AQ sure has survived a couple pretty tight spots http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif You could always teleport her atop one of my guys, that should work.

Where's the pity in this being the last dom2 game? Surely it just means that the next game, whenever that is, will be even more fun with the upgraded version. It's one thing to beat you with superior beings from outer space, and another things entirely to crush you with a bunch of monkeys! /threads/images/Graemlins/Palm.gif /threads/images/Graemlins/Palm.gif

Bah, I thought that Serpents Tooth weapon, the one with the Deadliest Poison in the world, the one which affects even poison resistant troops would cause you pain Jurri. I was wrong, im thinking that it was your high armour on Elephantman so the tooth never actually got to do damage.'

Oh and nice assault last turn I was wondering when that was coming. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Your poor prophet never had the tiniest chance. Maybe in your dominion, instead of mine, things would have been different. You're probably right that the armour was what blocked the Tooth, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway against 47 hp a turn regeneration. (And Phoenix Pyre http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif)

...although so far we've seen quite a few unexpected things, so maybe I shouldn't be so confident http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Jurri's having computer difficulties. So, we shall wait until his difficulties are resolved.

Jurri
July 28th, 2006, 09:06 PM
Yes, sorry for the wait. I have submitted my orders so we should get a new turn to contemplate while Pasha is gone.

It would indeed be a great folly for my minion to turn on me: I have a vast array of underwater thingies that I can't use on you landlubbers, so he'd have to face the brunt of them alone, most likely losing provinces instead of gaining them. Hey, I wouldn't mind taking you all on, I think I'd beat all yo scrawny asses nonetheless, but it would be much more involved micro-management-wise so I'd rather not. Thus, I'm happy to share a smidgen of my wondrous wealth to further shovah's aspirations for both our benefit.

With the nexus do you really think hge needs just a few death gems per turn? (although, giving it to a tartarian with death magic could be nice. Cast rigor mortis then charge in to replenish gems)

PashaDawg

Jurri's evil. It's not about NEEDING the extra gems. It's about TAKING them.

shovah
August 7th, 2006, 01:16 PM
I guess, may as well deny them to the enemy even if you dont need them. Its not called 'evil', its called strategy.

Jurri
August 7th, 2006, 03:28 PM
I never had too much appreciation for that particular thingie. You'd want to put it on an SC, but then you'd have to juggle the gems off of the dude (can't really go casting huge spells for fatigue considerations) and that's annoying. There's of course the exploitative way of utilizing it: get an ally to send 30 crapola units to a designated province each turn and amass the gems. That's too much trouble to arrange given my exalted position, though.

I guess I'll forge it just to spite you dudes, though. 'Cause I'm evil. Or because I have a strategy, take your pick.

Fellow players (excluding the Water Foul):

It is with great sorrow that I must report that the Wicked Jurri has essentially taken control of all of Pasha Mama's lands. This was foretold when I said the sooth many turns ago. The Evil One shall suck all our brains out!

But I KNOW that Lebarjack and shovah will hear the alarm bell and immediately end their mutual hostilities and strike at Jurri while his softer side is in their faces.

Ah, so the back of the Mama has finally broken under her weight and she's pleading for a graceful end? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I support stopping now; I'd say there's little to be done to stop me, and the only thing remaining would be dismantling the NAPs I have with Jotun and Atlantis and then gobbling them in an orgy of mass-destruction.

Well played Jurri, at least I had a flicker of success when I charmed your 2 AQs in one turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif that was sweet.

Thank you, thank you. This was a fun game, and serves quite well as an appetizer for Dom3. Too bad it's behind the perceived schedule http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

High points for me were crushing Ygorl's über-templars and Moloch with my Wyrm, arming Shmonk to fight back against Pike only to later find myself to be almost totally impotent against the monster I created, losing numerous SCs to those damn sprites and getting the AQs charmed off. Oh, and that [censored] brain in the jar gets the prize for annoying me the most. I wonder how I got to be so totally overpowering with my resources; a part of the explanation might be that I had a lot of luck with site-searching, which doesn't seem to be the case with my foes. Not to mention getting the Arcane Nexus and Wishes going. Indeed, how come no one tried to dispel the Nexus? It had zero reinforcement, I think. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

PashaDawg
August 30th, 2006, 01:24 PM
I did not try to dispel the Nexus because my gem income was extremely low. I was desperate to use the gems for other things.
