View Full Version : Clear Smoke: Could it become lockable?

When you're playing a North African Desert Scenario, all the smoke on the map tends to obscure your vision of where your units are, especially if you're moving a lot of units on the same area. While the "clear smoke/fire" button is useful, it doesn't last after you move a unit. Perhaps a toggle lock could be added to the button? E.g. click twice to lock it on clear, so that you can see and move your units without the interference in the way?

If we allow it to be locked people will forget they locked it and then we'll get complaints there is a "bug" in the game becasue their vision is blocked by something they cannot see becasue they forgot they locked out the smoke
The "U" key also clears smoke and you may find that is handier to use after each move than clicking the clear smoke button

I agree with Mark that it would be handy. I find myself hitting the U key more often than I want.

I seem to have the opposite in WinSPWW2. Every time I start a save I have to turn on smoke and blast radius.
I have the CD for MBT and the dl for WW2. Cd on order http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
EDIT: I thought I was in the MBT forum, Dooh!
In MBT the smoke and blast radius stays on when I start a save game.
