Six times in a row, man -- SIX *&^%$#@! TIMES IN A ROW that miserable trollop sabotaged vital components of my ship within the first three stars I visited. Two of those times it was at the very first *&^%$#@! star!

I hate her I hate her I HATE her.

I swear I'm gonna make a mod where she has a ship, just so I can KILL her.

Ah... that's exactly what makes Certain Other Events *so*, *SO* satisfying. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

:-))))
You surely know, but if you happen to have the toy robot or the lookout frogs you can capture her. I only miss the event AFTER you capture her. Imagine what can happen in the dark corners of the brig...
:-D

Indeed, I do know about the capture-enabling items; and whenever I manage to catch her, I assure you, the entire crew is given a chance to "thank" Esmerelda appropriately.

I agree completely. Hate her. HATE her.

If you make that mod, I predict massive downloading.

I know this is an old thread, but something I just noticed about Esmerelda.

I was taking on the insects, and was fitted out to fight them. But before the last fight, just as I was warping up to get into position, she ripped off my gong. Shoot. Fortunalty, we beat them (everyone else died, but I lived, so thats whats important).

In the end, I went back to Glory and there was the gong, for sale in the spaceport. How about that? I guess thats where she dumps it. So you people with fast drives and missing property, that might be the place to check.

Had I known, I would have run back to get the gong.

She won't necessarily take it back to Glory. I've found stolen goods on the other racial homeworlds occaisionally. (In fact, it's fairly rare that I ever find out which planet she fenced the stuff on.)

Yeah, I've now noticed that. It would be nice if she fenced it on the bird-trader's planet - that way I could trade some trash for it.

It'd be neat if you could try and steal stuff from planets, and they send a fleet after you to intercept...

But yeah, Sometimes, even though it hurts the score, I sell esmerelda to the klakar if I'm short on cash and need something cool... or dump her on a forsaken turd of a planet...

Can anyone verify this? I think that she takes the most recent item (the one lowest and right-most in your collection). I've found that I can move stuff from the front of the list to the back and she'll steal that stuff (one-star crummy animal stuff) and leave my true prizes alone.

Haven't gotten a total verification on this.

I've tried that in the past and it doesn't always work.

It worked every time until I posted. Then it stopped working. Go figure.

Tonight I had a game where she stole something I really like (the Gong, I think). I had hyperspace, so I immediatly traveled to every homeworld, found it, and bought it back.

The trick still works most of the time so I still juggle stuff around.
