After dropping into the LZ, I noticed this unit was destroyed by the enemy before landing. The next turn the parachute graphic was still on screen. I assumed this was to show that they were destroyed while still in the air.
Today I loaded the save and see this icon. I exited the game (full screen) and started again (in window mode).
Still there.

That's been fixed and once the v1.1 patch is installed you won't see this again.

The patch should be available in the next couple of weeks

BTW Irfanview wouldn't load the WW2 or MBT palette for the full screen shot. It would load the steel.pal but the colours were wrong.
I used windowed mode and MS Paint.
