Hi,

I noticed in my copy of Chamberlin & Doyles "Encylopedia of German Tanks of WW2 1939-45" that the Sd Kfz 251/1, and its radio carrier variants the 251/3, 251/5 and Pioneer variant the 251/8 are all listed as being armed with two MG 34 or 42. The book also lists the Sd Kfx 250/1 as having two MGs as well. This seems to jive with many of the photos I've seen of both vehicles. I'm curious as to why both vehicles only have 1 MG in SPWW2?

Thanks,

Adrian

The crafty little crunchies gaffled it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif The Panzergrenadier squad had (by the book) 2 MGs, and would mount one on the carrier while they were embarked.

Can always mobhack a 2 MG model.

I suspect it was a design decision. Carrier and squaddies have 3 MGs in total. If the carrier has 2 LMGs taking one from the squad then the squaddies dismount taking their LMG with them, you now have 4 LMGs in play two on the carrier and two with the squad - the "shared" LMG has magically multiplied. The code can't move weapons around between units so given that most of the fighting is done by the squad, they get the two guns leaving the carrier with one.

edit
I didn't see the "L" in gaffled - same result http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Cick on the information button for either formation PzGrZug gep (a) or formation PzGrKp gep (a) and it is explained that the extra MG is with the squads

After all the other MG was heading to the rear so anyway it is unlikely both would fire at once...
