I'm playing the band of brothers campaign.
Tried a couple of alternatives to add to my core.
WHat do you like to add and why?

I'm thinking maybe artillery next time.
I considered an FO but he'd never kill anything so never get experience.
Well, unless I was very gamey and shepherded routed units up to him or something.

You get time-based experience for surviving a battle. Kill experience makes experience tend to go up faster (esp first 5 kills) is all. Simply having hit a target helps exp gain, as does merely having fired weapons at an enemy in the previous campaign game. "Kills" are simply gravy in the experience check and not the omly thing considered.

You get experience for calling in arty fire - and your arty skill will go up, so you call fires faster.

It is definately worth having core FOOS.

Mine is usually bought just after the A0 as B0 - easier to find on the units screen, or a quick "N" when it becomes your turn, to move from the A0 and plot.

Cheers

Didn't know the hits are considered separately in the exp growth, thought it's just kills and (to a lesser extent) "active participation in combat"... Good thing!

Maybe something in the manual explaining exactly how xp works would be an idea?

Being able to shuffle your organisation around would be very useful. My new OP is J0. Not even on the first screen.
