I just played dom3 demo with my friend. Arcoscephale (me) vs Kailasa. We did the small level that came with the game and i started near to him. Anyway i sent a skeptic to his capital while i took terrority around my capital. After about 4 turns of my skeptic sitting in his capital, my friend lost due to no dominion. I don't really remember skeptics being this powerful in dom2. Has the skeptic been changed or was i lucky?
Apart from that the game is a real improvement and im gonna love it.

Well, there are a lot of questions to be answered there --
How powerful was your dominion compared to his? Was your dominion pushing his capital's dominion? Were there other events involved?

Any negative effect on Dominions is going to be powerful if he didnt fight it. Was his god there? His prophet? priests? was anyone praying? Did he even have a temple? Ive seen people lose temples in their capital to an event and not bother to replace it.

Alot of god forms start with Dominion Strength 1. This might have something to do with it if he is new to the game and didn't boost it up.

Also, the fact that god ISN'T always sitting in the capital on turn 1 is also something to consider. Maybe his dominion just never got as high as it would have been in DomII.

i just found out he had choosen a rather low dominion strength. He had his prophet and god in the capital. I had 6 dominion but it was near start of game so wasnt really effecting him much.
Hmm since Gods can now be dorment or imprisoned it means nations will have rather weak dominion projectory for the early game. Guess these dominion killing units are much more useful now and can be rushed to destroy your neighbour.
I killed him about turn 10. I guess that he didnt have enough time to build up his dominion strength.
