Suggest new features here. Keeping them real will propably help.

Here's a list of suggestions and their makers.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif A way to see if unit has Afflictions in the Army Setup screen (Nerfix)

Perhaps a tooltip that appears when you hover your mouse on an unit. It could also show if the unit is Old, Cursed, Insane etc etc.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif National spells for Marverni (PDF)

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif Seeing what troop composition the mercenaries you are bidding on actually are, before buying them. This was in dominions 1. (ologm)

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif A way to disable the animation of the troop movement arrows. (ologm)

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif Mouse scroll zoom for battles (coobe)

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif Residual scout information (MarcinM)

"When a scout leaves a province and moves 2 away, the province troop presence vanishes. I'd like a "ghost" display of "last seen troop presence in this province" along with a timestamp. So you'd get a "2 months (turns) ago, this province had 50 troops" etc. "

Frank Trollman suggests that residual info should also apply to magic sites.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif Filter and sort lists of provinces & commanders. (Manuk)
Now seem randomly ordered like in dom2

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif Gamma and volume control (Frank Trollman)

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif '?' key should also work in combat. (B0rsuk)
As far as I can tell, battle screen has its own hotkeys. I'm pretty sure many players were forced to watch entire battles because they couldn't figure out 'q' key.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif More visible province borders on manually made maps. (B0rsuk)
It takes too much time to recognize province borders and be able to plan next moves properly. It probably can't be changed painlessly, because it's hardcoded into map image, but still something to remember about. Unfortunately, it will probably require replacing all .tga files, and they're pretty big to put into patch.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif I'd like an alternate way to enter army setup screen: (B0rsuk)
right click on commander icon (that one on the left). I know there are hotkeys for this, but it's a bit unintuitive. And, if I remember correctly, I still have to scroll through all available commanders to change battle orders of specific commander.

/threads/images/Graemlins/Bullets.gif New map filters : (Twan)

*Commanders :
display a red X where you have one or more commander (or a red X + the number of commanders or one X per commander or a mini-box with the sprites of your commanders in each province)

*showing numbers on the map :
instead of forcing you to count sprites or click the provinces, show you on the main map the exact amount of the thing you search in your provinces, may be concerned...
- Supplies
- Ressources
- Leadership of each kind/units
- Income
etc...

You can choose units that are wounded/experienced in the setup screen - click unit and then w (wounded) or e (experienced) and all those will get highlighted.

But I agree with the above.

Really? I didn't know. But ah, it would be useful nevertheless.

I want national spells for Marverni ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
They are the only new nation to have absolutely none... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I'll gather suggestions and their makers to my first post.

I second that. I'd especially like that information for Magic Sites, which don't ever go away. "3 turns ago, this province had the fountain of rubies" would be great information because on this turn it still has the fountain of rubies.

I agree, its often dificult to see exactly what is going on in the battle, because you can't get a good angle, sometimes it is even impossible to select a certain unit to view its stats because of a bad angle (especially in underwater battles).
I understand that it is impossible to make a completely free camera (because than we'd have problem with 2d sprites on a 3d battlefield), but just a zoom option shouldn't be too troublesome.

Although obviously, this isn't a top priority.

You can already zoom in and out with Page Down/Page Up and you can pause the combat by pressing Spacebar... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Filter and sort lists of provinces & commanders.
Now seem randomly ordered like in dom2
(now spells can be filtered by path, good.)

W00T!
I knew you could use spacebar, never though about Page Up/Page Down. Especially since the mouse wheel didn't work >_<

I'd like a gamma and volume control for the game. The picture is really dark and the music is really loud. A simple scroll bar should more than suffice for both aspects.

(look at the maps in the manual pages 41, 42, I wonder why a filter like this has not been included, especially for supplies, the most useful value to have in mind when you move an army)

Maybe Nerfix doesn't read all the topics before creating new ones:

Yeah, commanders should be visible on the map just like dom2. They can be represended with sprites instead of X's now.

And an option to disband units and commanders would be a good idea. It's very frustrating to manage all those minor commanders you create to move your reinforcements to your borders... These are pretty easy features to add, i suspect. And much requested also... I remember seeing requests for a unit disband option in dom2 patch suggestion threads.

Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if when renaming a commander the input box could retain his current name. Many times all I want to do is add "E2" so that I can tell at a glance that this is my mage with Earth level two magic.

This is a bit of work, but I'll ask anyway: can we get a switch for starting pretender points? Like the resource/gold/supply multiplier ones? Having only the demo at present, I'm not sure if this one is in map commands, but It'd be nice in game too: an option to force players to take awake/dormant/imprisoned pertenders.

Yeh - kinda like SE-IV, you can choose whether people get 2000, 3000, or 5000 empire points.
