A screen capture from the arena in my current game which I lovingly titled FlyingFish:

...and while I am at it, I guess I'll share the following with you. My funny bone was so tickled that I had to take a screen shot of it:

I think that Arenas are magical in order to allow everyone to participate?
And you are right, the other is very funny

Yes, aquatics always were able to participate.
As for the other, LoL also - note that the Oracle has no body part, so I suppose that lose arm/tail/whatever afflictions are "cancelled" this way.

I'd rather want to know what body part is unimportant. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

I'd imagine that getting heavily veined tissue that's near my heart would have some effect. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I got to thinking after I posted that it was that way in Dom2. I had pretty much stopped watching (and never participated in) the arena matches, so when I was watching the Dom3 matches with a fresh eye the aquatic combatants kind of surprised me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Just saw this in the patch progress page:
* God epitet's could be cut off, fixed.
Could the God's epitet be considered an unimportant body part? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Epithet is title. "King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, King of Kings, Lord of the Primord"
or something.

Some of the heroic abilities are even worse than the afflictions. Just had one of my commanders develop "heroic stupidity". Heroic Stupidity?

WTFHEX, show it. O_o
I've had some heroes get Heroic Obesity. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Sick.gif It was very useful for my Troglo Lord though! He became even larger, stronger and insanely hard to kill. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Don't have a screenshot and not sure if I still have the game to get it from.
IIRC It gives a penalty to leadership, but bonus to MR and morale. Might affect mages slightly differently, was a Mound King who got it, I think.
Quite bizzare considering it was Ashen Empire Ermor. Funnily enough, one of my guys got heroic obesity too. How does a walking skeleton get obese precisely?

I just had a thought regarding the Unequaled Obesity heroic ability. Under my proposal:
1. Undead beings cannot get this (see Archonsod's post three up.). Makes no thematic sense.
2. If a female character ends up with it, a fertility cult springs up in whatever province she goes through. Scales slapped to Growth 3 while there, dropping back to local at one scale/turn after she leaves. Local Dominion is reduced by the number of Growth scale tips (Ex. from Death 2 scale local Dom drops 5 points or to 0 if it was less than 5 to start with) recovering normally. (This mechanic may only make sense in Early Era.)
Discuss.

Ewww! Female gets it, fertility / pop growth should _decrease_! It'd be different if she got "Awe/Seduction/etc" with it, _maybe_, but ....
Though there are some pretenders that'd make sense for, or if the Sacred Dancer commanders could get "exotic dancer" for a heroic ability http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Responding to (1): Back in prehistory/ dawn of civilization, that was (excuse the pun) a big thing. Meant she'd survive a bad season. Priorities have changed since, but at the point in history that matches up with the events in hand extra weight was actually a positive. Think Venus of Willendorf (sp?)
(2): Pretenders don't get heroic abilities for being Hall of Famers.
