View Full Version : How to take screenshots ?

Hello,

maybe I have missed this one while reading the manual and a forum search failed to show me anything about this, too, but how do I take a screenshot ?

Form the current discussion about high bless strategies being fairly overpowered for small maps I have started to wonder how large this advantage would be on medium maps.

Since this might be interesting to the other noobs like me, too, I wanted to make an AAR about it, but lack the means to take a screenshot.

Thank you for any help,

CharonJr

Do it in these steps:

1) Press PRINT SCREEN button.
2) Close game or alt-tab out of it.
3) Open Paint or another graphic editor program
4) Paste

There is no in game key/function to save screenshots, but above method works fine.

www.irfanview.com (http://www.irfanview.com) if you're using Windows.

It's free, it's tiny, and best of all it's user-configurable. You can map it to a hotkey (I use Ctrl F11 as an unlikely shortcut), or you can set it timed (best used in nonstop action games when you can't be bothered to hit Ctrl F11 when you would like).

Highly recommended.

Actually its the Windows method. It works in pretty much all programs in windows unless they block it. No reason to build one into the program

This did not work for me using windows xp. The print screen button did nothing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

www.irfanview.com (http://www.irfanview.com) if you're using Windows. This however worked great. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I am able to email the screenshot no problems, but how do I display the screenshot on the forums or send it as a PM? I tried hosting it on imageshack, then linking the screenshot but did not work.

Anyone, with the best, quickest and simplest method of putting a screenshot on this forum? Anyone... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

1. Attach your image file (preferably as a jpg or gif) to your forum post.

2. Submit the post, then click on "view my post".

3. Click on your post attachment then copy the url from your browser.

4. Return to your post and click on edit.

5. Insert an image link:

The print screen does nothing, except put the image into memory. You have to open a program that can accept graphics and paste it in. The PAINT that came with WinXP works.

But IrfanView is very nice, Ive had it as my viewer for a long time

It goes on the clipboard, just like anything else you copy/cut.
