Hi,

The manual say that black dryads can reanimate manikins and madragoras. I tried to but didnt find how. They dont have to command option "reanimate" even in territories with corpse and a temple. Did someone manage to reanimate some?

My first instinct would be to build a lab, but that's complete guesswork considering I only have the demo.

What you actually have to do is reanimate some undead dryads (or centaurs or panii) via national spells in enchantment- then those can be ordered to reanimate.

It's a bug in the description, probably related to Illwinter killing off the Carrion Woods theme. Then again, even with Carrion Woods, black dryads coudn't reanimate iirc.

Maybe its the Carrion lady (ench 4). She looks like a carrion dryad...

Still Late Era seems the best for carrions as Carrion priests and black dryads get holy spells for the undead.

Some nations are set to reanimate. All priests that nation recruits can reanimate. For other nations, only priests fulfilling certain conditions (being undead) can reanimate.

While we're on the subject of reanimating - I tried MA C'tis (Miasma), and got an undead, reanimating priest as one of my starting commanders - a commander that I could not recruit nomally. Is this some kind of bug?

No, it's not a bug, it's been that way for some time. It is actually a national commanders, just a normally summoned one.

I've tried MA Ctis in SP several times but never got a reanimating commander. All I got was a commander and an assassin. Can you please elaborate on this?

The direct answer, I think, is that the Black Dryad's ND paths allow her to use the Enchantment spells that summon the carrion dudes- Carrion Centaur, or Lady/Lord with a few boosters.

Are you sure you don't mean LA C'tis?

I don't think LA C'tis starts with an undead priest either. I would be interested in hearing more on this legendary tale of mythical C'tissian commanders.

LOL about the necromancery part http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Actually I'm doing a comprehensive dominions strategy book. I've started by basically writing up some stuff from my own experience and then added a lot of material from dom-I and dom-II threads and last I'm reading all the dom-III strategy threads. So this is how I came by this skeleton in the closet.

I tried LA C'tis the other day. They started with a Lizard Lord and a Tomb Priest IIRC. The Tomb Priest is normally Conj-0 summons for 20 death gems or something.
