Sword of Swiftness (2 Attacks) + Quicken Self (2 Attacks).

Q1: Does this combination result in more than 2 attacks per combat round?

Q2: If so, how many (3 or 4)?

Its 4, quickness doubles your attacks, no matter how many you get but you can still (iirc) only attack 1 square per round which is a max of 3 human sized kills.

Quickness gives you another action. On each action, you can only attack one square. So quickness does let you kill twice as many troops as usual, but four Swords of Swiftness (2 attacks each so 8/action) and Quickness (16/round) still won't let you target more than 6 humans in total.

This combo double the normal number of !?!?!? in a rsolow title. I think they should nerf it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Impressive!

I wondered if any members of my forum fan club would notice/appreciate the punctuation doubling (appropriate to this topic).

Generally spamming punctuation to grab peoples attention isnt something to be proud of http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I agree... usually having two or more types of punctuation indicate the topic question or statement is extreme. To do this for every topic title is simply the boy who cried wolf scenario.
Someday rsolow might have a question which needs to urgently be answered thus having 8 question marks yet after the community has seen all previous topics titled this way, no one will rush to read the topic. {boy who cried wolf}

Usually when someone purposely uses grammar and/or punctuation incorrectly over and over it indicates they are needy for attention.

Ok, so, just to confirm then, if I have a thug with boots of quickness and a crossbow (say an ethereal crossbow with a rate-of-fire of 1/2), do I then get a ROF of 1/1? That's nifty...

I cant remember if its 2 shots every other turn or 1 shot ever turn although i think its the later.

Tested it. Odd. A guy with +99% heroic quickness and boot of quickness, shots 1,1,1,melee,melee,2 shot per combat round. Also did a lot of running forward with his extra AP.

A guy with boots of quickness but no heroic quickness shot
1, 0, 1, 0, 1 shot per combat round, which is same as without quickness.

99% heroic only: Also behaves just as normal.

ODD.

Perhaps 101% heroic quickness would be enough to shoot every round.

That's wierd. Does it means that normal quickness does not double the numnber of missile attacks?

Could somebody confirm or deny it?

Water 9 blessed Yavana Archers (EA Kailasa) have 50% more attacks. I think some fired twice in one turn (fire, then move forawrd and fire again), but I'm not sure ATM. The two sacred units with ranged attacks I can remember are EA Kailasa's, LA Tien's and LA Man's. LA Man Lord Warden with Boots of Quickness would be the fastest way to test this.

Boots of quickness doubles bows and throwing weapons fine, it's just crossbows that normally fire every other round that are odd

Question:

What does quickness do on spellcasters? I know they can't cast two spells in a row. But can they cast a spell and do something else?

Once I tried giving my mage a bow of war and boots of quickness, but I never noticed him casting a spell and then shooting with the bow...

Why not?

Hmm... not sure. Did you script him to "Cast Spells" or "Stay Behind Troops"? The former prevents him from firing his bow, the latter would let him choose (and he could choose to neglect spellcasting).

edited... but just sligthly

What are you talking about? It clearly reads "the former [Cast Spells] prevents him from firing his bow"... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

In DomII quickness + xbow caused the crossbowmen to close to hand to hand combat
