I have been playing Abysia EA and was excited to get Inner furnace. I put it into use right away. The results were nothing but disappointing. The insanely easy resist roll that the troops are required to fail means in practice that only one out of every 10 troops or so are effected.( i didn't do the math, just a guess based on observation. This is with a fire 5 caster. )
Is it really worth using? Am I just underestimating its effects?
I suggest the fatigue and gem cost dropped or the magic resist be harder. What do you guys think?

The only way that spell will be remotely workable is if you give the caster some penetration items. Luckly, Abysia can forge a +3 penetration very easily with an eye of the void and a spell focus amulet. Still, that's maybe 4/10 troops if I recall correctly (11 or 10 MR base with a total of +1 to their MR from easy to resist and +3 penetration).

I cant remember whether those items recruite S1 or 2 but EA abysias best (non very rare random) astral mages are only S1.

only in early age though, so later ages it is more viable.

I think early age has a higher MR too With no native ast mages.

Both the eye of the void and the spell focus require S1, and an early age warlock is guaranteed to have S1B2, so they can forge it.
