Does Foul Vapors affect units /w 100% poison resistance.
I would assume so but there are exceptions to every rule.

Thanks,
Chris

10% chance of being affected by 5 AN poison damage. Poison immune units are immune to poison damage AFAIK, so I think they are immune to Foul Vapors.

Is foul vapors any good in dom3? I recall it being pretty much a waste in dom2.

Why was it a waste?

5 AN poison damage to 10% of units, every turn. It will cause lots of norale checks, at least. it can kill 10-hp units and weaken anything. It can deal damage to things otherwise hard to damage, like Vanir and mages. However, I don't think there's any totally poison-immune race, so everybody needs to use it with Poison Ward or something.

The paths needed took some work to get to. And then when you did, you still needed a poison immune army to keep the enemy on the battlefield because Foul Vapors works so slowly. Unlike, for example, Wrathful Skies which works quickly so you need only send the mage alone.

Well my lvl 4 air mage with bag of winds, air helm and boots of the messenger got killed by a unexpected foul vapours recently. Along with a dozen plus troops. Also its made me script poison resist until I can get a snake rings to my squad of lvl 4 air mages.

Useless? Definitely not, well worth using every now and again to keep an enemy off balance.

Undead are a totally poison-immune race. I think every undead unit has 100% PR, 100% CR as well...errrm...game winning strategy in there somewhere...

By that do you mean ctis with a few undead+mass skele spammers+foul vapours?

I figured.

Yes, it is unfortunate that the people answering the questions are also playing in my multiplayer games. Hopefully I haven't given you enough warning to prepare much of a counter.

Not unfortunate, unavoidable, Meglobob is playing in all multiplayer games. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

If he can get "Foul Vapors", he might be able to add unbanishable Vinemen/ogres into the mix, and maybe some bog beasts as spice http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

No, I'm not playing in either of those games http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Not all but alot, I joined so many, thinking as a newbie I would get knocked out of half or more very quickly...not the case...which means my brain is hurting from managing 6 medium - large nations.

Fortunately I seem to now be the target of several players/alliances so hopefully my brain will stop hurting soon. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

MP is great for becoming a better Dom3 player, Twan for example has taught me several new tricks...like putting mossbody buff on a green dragon or teleporting a hit squad of astral mages in, then script returning as the first script command...rinse/repeat...nasty hit&run squad.

Here's a great tip for learning Dom3 quickly, join MP, build up and attack one or more of the best players. Then take notes on how he goes about destroying you.

Yea, simply watching some of the better players play(especially vrs what you attack them with) can really help, as can discussing your plans/ideas with other players.

I'm learning lots of desesperate tactics non-air nations can use to annoy an invincible Man recently. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif And that the fast tactics (attack instead of hold & attack, even with lots of archers behind) used by Meglobob always rocks against anything I use (like foul vapors or lucky/ethearal tramplers :").
