Province Defense - first post....

Is there a shortcut or has anyone created a mod that makes each mouse click to increase province defense add more than 1 at a time. I fear I'm going to need a new mouse soon at the rate I'm pounding the left mouse button. Clicking 20-40 times in each province is a bit much but currently necessary. Please help... I'm sorry if this was posted previously. If so, I was unable to find it.

By the way... Great job everyone. These forums were the deciding factor that led to my purchase of Dom3.

Everytime something like this comes up, the only thing I can do is wonder how are you getting all the way to PD of 40+?
I think there was even one player that went all the way to 128 (or was it 256) and then the PD integer overflowed :X

Seriously, wouldn't you rather just buy more troops (especially mages)?
Or are you playing on some huge map with lots of very important bottlenecks?

Late game on a big map, you can raise all your defence to 125 and buy all the troops you want and have plenty of money left over.

Also, I'm playing against the AI while I learn the game mechanics (read: new to Dominions). The AI will often send small groups against province defense and I don't have to worry about attrition.

There have been times when I found it handy to spend all of my money that turn driving the PD of one province to the top. It was the only way to quickly do damage to an incoming army. And it acted as quite a surprise. Totally ruined his plans for the next 10 turns. But I must admit that its a better tactic than a strategy. It makes for a good surprise card, but its not worth doing it alot once the other guy knows it might happen.

The only time Ive seriously used PD as part of an overall strategy with when playing Giants as a defensive strategy. Jotunheim gets good benefits from PD that doesnt need food or upkeep.

Something that's wierd is that sometimes this just stops working for me.

Does Province Defense only go up to 125? I've never increased mine past 105 because I get more bang for my limited bucks (usually) with active troops.

I've never gone past 44 province defense
