Cool,8 Maybe shooting way too high...

I would like to play in this game. I'm very new, and I don't mind terribly much which empire I get to play. I'll try out some races from the early empire and then pick one by tomorrow. Just keep a spot for me.

I would be interested. I have yet to play a Multi-player Dom3 game. I don't care what nation I play.

The only ones I have tried are;
Niefelheim
Kailasa
Vanheim

Hi Cor

I'm interested and would like to try Abysia.

RicoRico
January 29th, 2007, 02:39 PM
if there's room I'd like to join.. still thinking of nation!
I am in one other PBEM, which is my first..

Cor
January 29th, 2007, 02:58 PM
Thanks guys! please Pick a nation and email me your pretenders ( see email above). So we can get this party started.

RicoRico
January 29th, 2007, 06:08 PM
I'll take Sauromatia, seems like fun.
I sent the pretender.

Well, right now it's bedtime for me, so I guess I can't play today anymore. Maybe tomorrow morning before work if I have received all files I need. I can't play the rest of the Tuesday (location Netherlands).

Good luck to all

Cor
January 30th, 2007, 01:28 PM
I am just waiting on two more pretenders, then we can start. if i get them before 4:30pm Chicago time i can probobly send out a turn today. If I get them later then the turn will likely go out tomorrow.

I am looking forward to this. Great line up thus far. Abysia, Sauromatia and Pangea have such interesting and different stratagies. This will be a fun game.

Very exicting. Please just dont eliminate me on before the 10th turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Cor
January 30th, 2007, 02:50 PM
Update: I got an email from "Dedas" Who wants to play oceana. I think that if I am still lacking pretenders by tommorrow morning that Dedas could fill a slot. And we could start by Wendsday afternoon with the players we have even if its only 5.

I would like to keep it at 6 players, the Aran map gets kind of crowded with any more than that, which might lead to premature eliminations and since we are all new, that just does not seem nice.

Dedas
January 30th, 2007, 02:54 PM
If you want to throw me in I'm all yours. I've sent my pretender. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Cheers!

RicoRico
January 31st, 2007, 06:57 AM
me too ;-)
I am hosting my first PBEM game as well, but it's for 16 people making it quite slow. I am only at turn 3 now...

I might start another one for a small amount of people, like 4 to 6, think it would be great when you're further in the game with MP/PBEM!

jutetrea
January 31st, 2007, 03:18 PM
If you still haven't started and have space just let me know, sent pretender, EA Atlantis

Cor
January 31st, 2007, 03:29 PM
We have our second backup. I will send out a turn tonight if all goes well. Looks pretty clear that Dedas- Oceania &
Jutetrea - Atlantis will be playing. Hope the other players know how to swim!

Dedas

bump of goodness!

Lets get this thing rollin, since its a small amount of players do we want to try to keep track of when turns are sent? maybe get 2/day? I'm assuming its too much of a pain for the host, but you never know.

Cor
February 1st, 2007, 10:56 PM
Sorry Guys. I Cant host 2 per day, except on some weekends. I ve got work and all. Turn coming soon.

Cor
February 1st, 2007, 11:16 PM
Turn 2 out.

Do people want to play more turns on the weekend?

Jazzepi
February 2nd, 2007, 02:33 AM
I really wanted to play in this game, but I'm having fatal issues with the 3.6 patch. Until that's resolved, I don't want to hold up everyone else's fun. Feel free to delegate my empire to computer or anyone else who wants to play.

Sorry guys http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Dedas
February 2nd, 2007, 06:07 PM
Sorry, I have been fiddling around with Python 2.5 abit, and the config file. I may have corrupted the turn somehow. I will send you a new one when I've downgraded to 2.4.4 again (with the weird Xorg crashes and all).

Dedas
February 2nd, 2007, 06:34 PM
I've tried the: dom3 --verify X command on our game, but it says my CD-key is fine (as it should). I don't really now what is up. I try to resend.

I will probably not do me any good to tell you this, but I got a very nice plague in my capitol, lol. 15000 people gone and half the income... nice. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

cupido2
February 3rd, 2007, 02:08 PM
tough luck dedas. i will send you some gems the next turn and sacrifice 10000 slaves for your health. This as a sign that the noble kingdom of abysia is falsly accused of being bloodthirsty.

Dedas
February 3rd, 2007, 02:11 PM
I always knew that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Cor
February 3rd, 2007, 02:25 PM
Luckily the most enlightened republic of Arco has its philosiphers hard at work on sanitation procedures to avert such horrible plagues.

But really, that sucks, sorry.

I have four of six turns already. I will check back every couple of hours to see if we can host again. Weekends rock.

Dedas
February 3rd, 2007, 02:37 PM
I just want to say this: STOP DUMPING YOUR GARBAGE IN THE SEA! It is making us fishes sick and angry.

Cor

jutetrea

Cor
February 4th, 2007, 01:22 PM

Cor
February 5th, 2007, 02:06 PM
Had some problems with the internet last night. So i gave up and watched the Superbowl.

Anyway.
Turn 7 out.

RicoRico
February 5th, 2007, 02:32 PM
Cor, perhaps you could send an email to all of us with the nation names, so know each other's email addresses? Then we can do some diplomacy more easily.

Or do you guys think we should only communicate through in-game messages?

Cor
February 5th, 2007, 07:25 PM
I think that is a swell idea. will do.

jutetrea
February 5th, 2007, 09:14 PM
So wierd, I'm playing my first big game SP - Faerun small (specials are cool, never get the items though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif). 14 opponents, playing EA Sauro.

Just maxed research, all 9's, almost everything searched, leading in almost every categoy (cept forts)... and haven't been in a war yet. Even though I have wild hunt killing their priests. Then I come back to this game, do a turn and feel really, really weak http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Random Q: what do you guys do with all your researchers when you're done? I've got like 30 of em being pretty useless, more than half horror marked from lanterns. I'm pretty unclear about the upkeep of this game, so is it worth just killing them off? Or just send 20 mages in casting the 20 ancestor spell http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Coolest thing is I had an eater of the dead get charmed by a big indy earth mother... i had a gift of kurgi on him, so he was the toughest thing i've had to beat yet.

Anyway, turns in http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Cor
February 6th, 2007, 01:18 PM
Good news is that all the turns are in. Bad news is that everytime I try to end my turn it says something like "CRN: cannot open file" (I am not sure exactly what it says because i left that scrap of paper at home.) Anyway I will work on the problem. If its a problem only with my player then i may just turn myself AI or something...

The problem seemed to start when i transferred game files between an xp computer and the host, running 98se.( told you I was still in the stone ages.)

All this to say hosting will be delayed. very sorry. It has become clear to me that I need a more stable system. I am looking into both Vista and Ubuntu. And a reliable internet connection, not dial up.

Cor
February 6th, 2007, 04:12 PM
I found a temp work around. Turn 8 out!

Cor
February 7th, 2007, 04:05 PM
Turn 9 is out.

Things should start to become interesting, we are coming into contact now.

How are things going in the sea?

very curious how things are going to work out.. :-)
so much more fun already then playing against AI!

I'm off to bed! I will only have a chance to play the next turn before I go to work Thursday (8:00h GMT+1), otherwise it'll be Friday afternoon somewhere..

Dedas
February 7th, 2007, 06:21 PM
I'm sorry cupido2, I missed it. I will make it up to you, I promise http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

Cor

Thats what i get for being in a hurry.

Sorry guys. I saw your emails,i sent out the 2h files. That is a Problem. The files are on my PC at work. which means no hosting until Monday, because i am locked out of the office. ( i have your 2h files archived thru gmail, but i have been taking my turns during lunch at work, so i dont have that archived.) Things will be much easier once i get a good home internet connection (possibly in a few weeks) and we can more weekwnd turns. that will be fun.

Cor
February 20th, 2007, 01:56 PM
I think I have the turn out now (I HOPE). Sorry for the long wait, Forgot Monday is a holiday here in the US. Presidents Day, nobody really cares, they just get the day off.

RicoRico
February 27th, 2007, 06:22 PM
I have reveived turn 19, not 20. As I read in the emails there is a problem with the files.. Perhaps we should agree to all stale turn 20 or something if no solutions comes?
Has anyone been able to play turn 20 at all?

Cor
February 27th, 2007, 11:42 PM
okay new turn is out.

RicoRico
February 28th, 2007, 04:41 AM
ouch, this has gone a bit weird.. all leaders I recruited that 'strange' turn are somehow downgraded to regular units.. which means they lost all their magic skills and are pretty useless (near 1000 gold worth of commanders).
also, my beloved mercenaries left me in the mean time and they are nowhere to be found :-(

anyway, I assume all of us have similar problems?
well, at least I now have a truckload of gold to spend ^^

still curious how those battles went. not too well, judging from the army score graphs...

Dedas
February 28th, 2007, 08:09 AM
Yeah, one of my best mages lost all his skills and commander status and became a rather useless recruit.

Cor
February 28th, 2007, 11:53 AM
OH! thats where that mage went. I thought he just dissapeared. Weird.

New turn is out.

"Whereas the peoples of Sauromatia are savages that flay the skin of slaves for entertainment,

Whereas the government of Sauromatia is rapidly expanding,

Whereas Sauromatia is engaged in open hostilities with our allies,

Whereas our agreement of peace with Sauromatia has reached its natural conclusion,

Be it resolved that the Mighty Republic Of Arco declares war upon the evil Nation of Sauromatia.

Furthermore, be it resolved that The Enlightened Republic of Arco invites all other nations, regardless of creed, to enter into a war of necessity to rid the world of the menace of Sauromatia. “

Praise the enlighted nation of Arco which fights side by side with the Children of the Lava! Hear the words of wisdom of the arcocephalian philosophers and join the ranks and your grandchildren's children still will sing songs of your valor.

RicoRico

It was meant to happen. My Enaries foresaw this. My Witch Kings shed the blood of many virgins tonight in honour of the Spirit of War, who is already roaming all of the land.

Every nation has its own wars to wage, and each has its time. Those that mingle in other's will be crushed beneath the feet of the Monster. It is foreseen.

As Fire can be quenched, magic will be silenced. The time is now.

Guys

I hope you won't mind (too) much: I am going on a holiday to do some snow boarding next week. So:
- last turn I can take before my vacation will be the coming Friday (9 March) afternoon/early evening.
- first turn I can play after my vacation will be somewhere Sunday 18 March.

This week of course we can still play to the fullest!

Can imagine it's a bit of a bummer (I know the first thing I usually do when I get home is check if my turn is in), but I'm hoping you guys can wait for me, as I'm in a double war which obviously would go quite wrong for me if I staled ;-) Maybe even if I don't stale, which I would like to find out! :-P

So, what do you say?

cupido2
March 5th, 2007, 12:37 PM
I say: Have a nice week snowboarding.

Cor
March 5th, 2007, 01:54 PM
RicoRico, you are definitely in no position to stale or even be substituted. We will wait, just be careful out there, dont break your mouse hand.

But who really knows? That is another 5 or so turns, Your empire could be a smoldering ruin by then.( just kidding http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

And another thing, You Europeans get Vacation? We have long ago done away with such archaic practices in the USA. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Sick.gif

Sorry it was a day later than usual. But new turn is out.

RicoRico
March 6th, 2007, 04:44 PM

5 weeks a year is standard. Teachers get more (which I am not). Usually you can choose when you use 'em up.

One of the players asked for an extension on this turn, so it will be out when i get it, probobly tonight or tomorrow.

Cor
March 7th, 2007, 02:33 PM
We are having some difficulty with atlantis's turn file. I dont think I caused this problem, at least I cant imagine how I could have.
Altantis's file is old, from last turn. Only Atlantis is having this problem. In the hosting screen it shows Atlantis as not taken turn yet, evryone else has.

Cor
March 7th, 2007, 02:49 PM
Seems like the problem fixed itself. So weird. Turn coming soon.

Cor
March 8th, 2007, 05:28 PM
New turn out. Next turn may be delayed,a player is moving, delay should not be very long however, 24 hours or so.

It is getting very exciting in the East. The sun is rarely seen through the clouds of Sauromatian poison tipped arrows. Yet the Children of Fire are unstoppable. They shrug off arrows and blows as if they where feathers.

Arco and their gleaming, golden, ant-warriors march with their heads held high and their hearts full of hope and courage, lead by their immortal god, Pyre.

Wandering bards and merchants tell stories of the imminent collapse of Sauromatia. The number of immigrants have increased in Arcosphale. It seems that the educated are seeking refuge there from their native lands of Sauromatia.

Dedas
March 8th, 2007, 08:17 PM
And in the seas strange creatures lick their wounds, given to them as a reminder for trying their luck on dry land. Everything is not calm however...

RicoRico
March 9th, 2007, 01:12 PM
The Sauromatian witches ride their beasts, leaving destruction in their wake. Destruction of those who attack the lands that we claimed to be ours. Death will rain upon those who oppose us.
Though the Abysian infantry may hide behind their shields in fear, their protective metals will fail to save them when they meet the great armies marching towards them.
And Pyre, that frenzied bird of fire will soon have his immortality contested!

***
ok guys, I'm off to Austria! See you around the 18th of March...

Cor
March 12th, 2007, 01:40 PM
I have been in no hurry to get the turn out because we cant play again until the 18th. Anyway, I am still waiting on Atlantis.

By the way Sauraomatia, All your base are belong to us!
You are on the way to destruction!

Turn 32 is out. Sorry about the slugish hosting, I had guests come in and had to entertain them.

I am afraid this week may not be much better, I have more guests coming (unexpectedly) from out of town. Normal hosting should pick up by monday.

You know, when I first started this game I thought I was in a good position. Then I realized I had two stupid water nations on either border.

I only have two turns in, it has not been 24 hours, but I am afraid we have lost some momentum.

Jazzepi,
In my opinion, I was in the worst starting location. Right between land nations, both very capiable of blitz. I would be open to debate, though.

Lucky for me, my neigbors where both nice. I could have been partitioned easier than Poland. Eventually I had to choose sides.

I thought you had it made way over there, alone in the west. Pangaea seemed in a very nice position. I have not been in your shoes, but give me two water nations as neighbors against two land nations anyday.

Dedas

>I thought you had it made way over there, alone in the west. Pangaea seemed in a very nice position. I have not been in your shoes, but give me two water nations as neighbors against two land nations anyday.<

My problem is that I've been attacked three times on both my nothern and southern fronts. It's nearly impossible for me to advance past my eastern border because of the constant threat of sea invasion. Even though I've been able to repel the attacks, I can't really punish either nation for attacking me. For water nations, there's no threat of retaliation early game, so they can basically raid all they want.

Now, notably I was able to crush all three attacks on both sides 0:) But now there's this stupid SC. I should have given him more afflictions when I had the chance! I'm not very good at dealing with SCs, especially not with pangea.

I also picked a very bad pretender God. I won't even go into that, but I could have used the points elsewhere to help boost my income. Pangea has serious issues with intense army upkeep.

IMHO Sauroman clearly had the best starting position. He had a very tiny coastline, and lots of territory to expand into, plus a border to back his empire into.

I think for this reason wrap around maps are much more realistic and interesting. Being in the corner of the map has huge advantages.

Same holds for Abysia, he is at the edge of the map with lots of territory as well.
Not to say I was not happy with my position, though being at the coast can be a disadvantage as well...
Wrap-around maps are fun indeed, I agree.

I just expanded aggressively and with clear targets, I picked my scales carefully for that goal, which of course came at a certain cost ;-)

I begin to think these Sauromatians have something against the humble people of Abysia... I remember the words of this warmonger-lord when the war began: "At last." The words fail me...

Dedas

The Sauromatians DO have something against the Abysians, of course... ;-)
They were getting too strong for their own good, and my armies were bored with all the peace, and they weren't about to backstab their friends... At last, a newly found, strong enemy to FIGHT! ROAR! (or something)

Atlantis here -

Our scouts are curtailed in the SW portion of the map - how goes the battle? Does Sauro have an overwhelming force? Are we all doomed? Poor Pangaea is being beset upon all sides, the water nations are slowly affecting the ways of the land, Abysia's waterfront is quiet - yet the North and Northeast are unknown.

How goes it?

Dedas
April 12th, 2007, 04:42 AM
Have faith my brother of the sea. Yes, the land dwellers are all doomed to a certain death by poison arrows, this is probably the truth. But I ask you this - does the arrow fly well in water?

Strength in waves, we shall prevail!

New turn is out.

A report from land:

"A mad animal
Man's a mad animal
I'm a million years old, and in my time
I've helped commit a million murders
The earth is spread
The earth is spread thick
with squashed human guts
We few survivors
We few survivors
walk over a quaking bog of corpses... "
-Peter Weiss: "Marat/Sade"

The war is far from over. Sauromatia has not won.

New turn is out. Turns have been slower recently, partially my fault, but it would help greatly if everyone had their turns in in 24 hours.

I am concerned with making sure we can end the game before July. In July I will be out of town for much of the month. Then I move to Hawaii and start school. I think it would be for the best If i did not host during that period.

I think that it is quite likely that the game will be over before any of this comes to pass, At least that is my hope. If not I will look for someone to take over hosting, perhaps one of you?

Jazzepi
April 17th, 2007, 12:50 PM
I'd be fine with just setting myself to AI at that point, I'm pretty much out of this game. This was my first real multiplayer experience and I did about a million things wrong. Now I know better, but I really ham stringed myself quite a bit.

Jazzepi

RicoRico
April 17th, 2007, 05:09 PM
I think we will be done way before July..

With the time difference between us though, it is very hard to promise 24 hour turns. For me it is best if turns are hosted and sent around 18:00 (+1 GMT), that gives me all evening. If very much later it will be next day, and sometimes I may have some real life stuff to do off course ;-)

If any real hosting problems occur around July, I could take it over I guess, I'm hosting one other game as well at the moment.

By the Holy Snake!
That was a worthy battle and a sight to behold. For the first time, Pyre's magic truely wreaked havoc. Not enough to brave the mighty armies of Sauromatia, but I'm sure we'll meet again.

Cor
April 19th, 2007, 12:30 PM
Well met worthy foes of Arco! I will likely never again see such a battle in all my days! Surely all the other nations knew our struggle by the shaking of the ground and the heavens falling to earth.

Seriously, i wish you could have all seen this most recent battle, between Sauromatia and Arco. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, It muct have taken 20 mins to watch the whole thing. On my side there were hordes of Fire Elementals and a legion of Ant warriors. With assorted mages. RicoRico's side there were tons of heavy calvary, archers, and a lot of skeleton summoning mages lead by a dreadful vangard of 10 Hydras. The same ten hydras I have been fighting for months without inflicting a single casualty. Today all those Hydras are dead.

Our people rejoice even in our defeat!

I am not smart enough to get screen shots. Can you RicoRico?

About how to post on forum: go about saving like you told me. Then upload the picture some where on the web. Photobucket is free and stores your pictures for this purpose. When you have done that the UBB code is linkhere. Its that simple. Hope that helps, I could not have gotten that far without your tips for saving.

Your magic must be truly powerful, to have summoned all that in just a few months! Even more reason for my armies to come in and have a look. And don't worry, we'll bring some gems, as a gift!

In the mean while, my Grand Wyrm will continue to bring new faith in the infidel lands.

New turn out, I will host again sunday or monday if the turns are in, B/c my internet is back up at home.

Sauromatia, You were warned. I only wish you had brought 1000 more troops into the death trap. Nextime maybe your cowardly god will storm Arco castle, Pyre looks forward to that.

We must thank you for all the arifacts your commanders left behind. We accept your generous gifts, does this mean you wish peace? All we reqiure is all your gold and gems and 3/4 of your land split between Arco and Abysia. Certainly a small price, no?

RicoRico
May 28th, 2007, 10:03 AM
Ah, Arcoscephale, once again the power of magic has triumphed over the power of numbers! Or, has it?
Has your magic power outgrown you? The suicidal explosion that wiped out all but a few of your own commanders was a sight to behold! My army's survivors will have good tales to tell to spice up our camp fire meals.
Your luck is running out, and I suspect you know it. Send me all of your gems and items and we could talk about letting you keep your Home Fortress for a couple of months longer. Think of your nation's children!

And, on the other side of the world, Abysia's champion of Fire is isolated. Hardly any men left to protect him from his fate. He is formidable still, but will he survive the next battle? Certainly, many of my hydras were killed in the latest, fierce battle, but there is still the Grand Wyrm, he who's powers exceed that of any crature currently alive!

Many hydras and unknowing men, ranging from the militias Sauromatia had to rise in his dispair to the elite Cataphracts, were burnt to ashes in a few seconds. Only the cursed wyrm, a god, can challenge my regular troops. When the Abysian's lowly troops can cause such a slaughter among the Sauromatian armies what will their GOD do to you I ask! Tremble in fear and crouch in your castles! Nothing will stop his fury!

Ah, the Abysian 'god'. I wonder if it even exists. And if it does, it must the greatest coward of all Abysians, as it has never dared show its face!
The Wyrm is not worried, not worried at all. He will treat Abysia's false god just as he would any regular Abysian soldier and grant him a swift and certain death!
And my fallen warriors will live on in the spirit of their sons and daughters, for a true Sauromatian knows no fear, not even of death.

Ahm, haven't received mine yet.
Why don't you let Sauromatia stall every turn? The real god is you, Cor! Hail Cor, Supreme Ruler of the Aran map, Time Lord, He who has the divine machine! We beg you to freeze Sauromatia in eternity so we can claim back what is ours! We will sacrifice blood to please you oh Real one!

Thats right, a stray lightning bolt struck an unprotected commander who was protected with Pheonix Pyre, which caused her to explode, which caused her neigbor to explode, and so on, killing about 20 commanders in one of the coolest chain reactions I have ever seen.

I hope this is a lesson to all of you about the dangers of mass communions and pheonix pyre.

I have only one question for Sauromatia: where did you get those nifty troll knights riding moose? I have never seen those.

"Noooooooo"

I actually laughed out loud just imagining your reaction when watching the video. If that was last turn, copy that save file and find someone with FRAPs... that's gotta make the main board.

Would make an interesting AAR too...

ahhh.. I missed you casting phoenix pyre! and yes, with communions that can hurt! :-P that one was BIG! Imagine the suprised look on the face of my few remaining commanders... I could not figure out what happened, I thought it was due to the King of Fire dying or something..

Well, that communion thing is not very likely to happen anymore, is it :-P

By the way, the moose come with the troll king summoning!

Turn me to ai or sub please. I won't be able to do anything for at least a week, due to a nasty comp disaster.

Mah Ha Ha Ha! You Cannot defeat Pyre here in her place of power!

Arco has repelled another assault. This time causing another 200 casualties on the Sauromatian armies and killing 15 commanders.

So, this was my first MP game ever and I took a nation I thought I was familiar with via the demo. The # of mistakes or things I would have changed is huge.

That being said, Oceania going AI really really sucked. We spent so much time and effort trying to take down pangaea that we were completely separated from the arco/aby/sauro conflict. And still, we were bad at it. Suddenly having an ally go AI with a wide-open back door sucks http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

That being said, as you'll notice we're flailing ineffectually at your backside Rico...bit too late and all that but hopefully annoying. At the same time Oceania is doing the same. (knew I should have hit them when they were stale http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif)

So, Arco and Aby - message me with what you may need in the way of help. We've got some resources, just not a lot of cash. Know that we have 2 weak armies playing in Sauro's backyard now being annoying...probably soon to be decimated. We were going to finish our original plan of taking out pangaea, but then sauro seemed to want a piece of the pie.

Let me know what our poorly designed and managed nation can do to help.

ROAAARRRRR!!!!

I should have dispelled that global spell when I had the chance!
There will be a time for revenge, the children of my finest warriors have already been training for years. They know no fear, for they know that glory will come for the Grand Snake, in due time.
Be aware, Pyre, master of the skies, for I am not out of tricks yet...

And the forces from the water are stirring as well. They think they can take my lands and enjoy them. They have chosen to trade peaceful coexistence with an age of pain. They will learn the fury of the jungle!

And then there's Abysia, the once powerful. Not to be underestimated, still, but the furnace is losing fuel, cooling down. I will reduce them to a flickering candle, and blow it out with a hiss, spelling victory.

Shhhh! The larvae(?) are sleeping!

Just to be clear, Pan was our Kill. Out of this miserable excuse for a playstyle we will gain that much at least.

Other than that, carry on.

I think Arco is beyond help at this point, but I am okay with that. I have lost count of the number of Sauromatians that have died trying to take our home. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Better send another 400 to die at the gates of Arco.

Man, are there a lot of elephants out there trying to walk right over my armies! I can hear the thunder in my capital!
Perhaps I should do something about them, before this gets out of hand!

Cor
June 13th, 2007, 04:47 PM
Elephants? neat!

I see you have begun another siege on my capital. Better bring 2000 troops this time http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Rico

YOU CAST WILD HUNT! Oh no you didn't.

You deserve some kind of award, I have never heard of that being used in multiplayer. Very cool. And very bad for the rest of us, because obviously you are rolling the gems.

I had some better options, I agree.. But I just liked to see it used for once :-) And curiosity doesn't kill snakes, just cats.

and you know, it actually killed a priest! Ok, the cheapest there is, but it's DEAD now!

I tried it in single player a few times, but it never lasted more than one turn...

I'd also love to cast The Kindly Ones, but I don't have the paths... Never seen it in action.

Cor
June 14th, 2007, 02:40 PM
I recently cast Kindly Ones In a SP. I was shocked to find they they will kill your commanders at roughly an equal rate as everyone elses. I was like WTF!?

Kindly Ones is only advisable if you have no blood mages, and even then they will attack random commanders. The Kindly Ones themselves are total badasses and can challenge thugs easily.

Arco and Aby - are you guys still kicking?

I see no way Atlantis can come back vs. the gems/gold of Sauro. I'd be willing to give Rico the win.

Oceania backstabbing me sucked...my capital has been under siege forever... no idea why the ai isn't breaking through. I've got 1 guy in it vs his 140 or so.

By the way, lord of the hunt has been annoying.. I had very few priest to start and now have 0.

This game was actually good though, my first time playing MP and I learned a lot from it. Mostly what "not" to do.

My gawd yall started this game in January and it's now almost July?!!! How long do these games take? A lifetime? lol

Cor
June 20th, 2007, 05:18 PM
Yeah, I have no hope of winning. I can beat back storming of my castle forever, But that is pretty futile. I am also willing to give the win to RicoRico. He certainly deserves it. He fought off Abysia, Pangaea, Arco all at once and eventually engaged every nation on the map.

If Abysia(Cupido2) concedes we have a winner.
