Tried searching but didn't find anything definite.

I know way back when, (SP2, or maybe thinking of WAW) I read scout inf. get a spotting bonus, while recon vehicles do not get the vehicle spotting penalty. Is this applicable to the WinSPXXX series?

I've always used the foot scouts simply because spotting aside, their stats are ideal. Just wondering if say a 2 man AT team size 0 is just as good as a 2-4 man scout team.

Likewise for vehicles. Many scout vehicles have added vision over other units, but for eg the US. I never buy M3 series Brads. An Abrams is roughly the same price, and vastly more capable. The Introduction of the Tow-2B makes it a bit more tempting, but facing inf. ATGMs makes survivability a huge bonus(as does not loosing 4-500 points )

So, I usually use 113s and the like with foot patrols. 4 sets meets or beats the M3 price. Just trying to find some sort of justification to buy the fancy toys. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

There's no spotting bonus for units just because they have 'scout' or 'recon' in their name. However, these units do usually have an experience (and morale) bonus. And the higher your experience, the better you spot. And the better your vision, the better you spot too (so it's not just for seeing through smoke and seeing in the dark).

I have found out that Scout vehicles appear to behave like APCs (they protect the troops carried).
