View Full Version : I´m not getting blast radius shown

Saved game attached, note it´s made only to show the issue there´s only one FO and all the arty has fired. I´m not seeing BR at all not even in pbems. Maybe I´m doing something wrong. I´m running v3.00 CD

This is very odd. I just loaded the attached game file into the game twice to see what happens. Both times were there not only no blast circles, there were no artillery strikes at all from the US although artillery was planned to arrive. The game zoomed in on the locations targetted but showed no actual firing.

Besides starting up the game the only thing I did was to retarget a couple of arty units (the first three SP mortars and first three 155mm SP's) on the hexes the were zoomed in on from a previous strike.

Also, I played this same scenario myself last week and experienced no problems at all.

US?...scenario? are we talking about the same files here?

I've had this happen to me at least 2 times, that I've noticed it.

LOL, my bad. I made a mistake with the extraction of your files so I was still seeing my own old saved game. No wonder it looked vaguely familiar. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
But seriously, I had a look at your game and I have no problem seeing the blast circles from the russian artillery. Just to be sure, you do know it's an on/off switch you have to toggle manually?

And I made a second mistake. I did extract your files correctly but I didn't put them in a different slot. And I didn't copy the old ones int hat slot. So now I've lost the files with the non-arriving US artillery....

That'll teach me not to fool around with the game after a couple of beers!

LOL, sorry about those files. Interesting though you mention it must be toggled manually, since there´s a tab in the bomabrdment menu. I´ve tried both, I´m certanly doing something wrong then.

If I recall correctly it needs to be toggled each time you restart the game. You can change the default setting by changing the appropriate setting in the CamoGame.ini file so that it is on each time you start the game up.

The blast radius is set to be off under normal circumstances unless you turn it on manually in the arty screen

However:

IF you want to see the blast radius all the time open up the CamoGame.ini found in the \Game Data folder and look for this line

;show or hide secondary blast areas 1=on, 0=off
ShowBlastCircles=0

change that to

ShowBlastCircles=1

DO NOT use something like WORD to alter that file. Use "Notepad"

Thanks Don, I already knew about that siwtch, however I´m realizing that blast radius appears only during actual bombardment, I thought it was to appear also on bombardment plot screen, my mistake.
