When will a patch come out that will let Weird Worlds
run on a Vista machine? When I loaded it on mine, it
was so slow that it could not keep up with the mouse,
no matter how slowly I moved it.
My PC is a 3GHz Pentium w/1 GM RAM. The Vista experience
score is 4.2, so it should have no problem with Weird
Worlds.

It's quite possible an issue with the graphics driver rather than the game. From everything I read Vista is just not gamer-friendly at the moment.

Someone was telling me that Vista runs like garbage with less than 2 Gigs of RAM. Now why would anyone want to endure that just to get a bad Mac OS X clone?

The most likely problem is that your video card's drivers don't support OpenGL 3d acceleration, so the game is using Microsoft's software-based OpenGL implementation.

You may be able to get it to work just by updating the drivers, as video card manufacturers seem to be finally getting their things together. ATI released a new set of drivers with supposedly functional OpenGL support just in the last week or so, and I've heard positive reports of NVidia as well.

That said, I still wouldn't recommend Vista as a gaming OS at this point and will not "upgrade" my own machines any time soon.

From what I understand Intels cards are the only ones with properly functioning Vista drivers. Go figure lol

Upgrade to Windows 2000. Vista is awful.

I had the same problem with Vista - the game ran so slow it was unbearable. However, I upgraded my video driver (on an nVidia Geforce 6) and every game now runs perfectly, including Weird Worlds.
