Sweet pretender, I've muffed my early game up : (

a little bad luck too hasn't helped ; )

Which is a sweet pretender? And what nation are you? This is all very mysterious...

What nation is everyone else? (I'm Man).

Did Marignon get the horrible "half your population has died and corpses litter the landscape" event? That's brutal.

no just hordes of brigands causing a lot of unrest...then a barbarian invasion that took one of my few provinces....oh well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

So I take out Man's besieging army, taking down his Wyrm pretender as well, then Bogus invades....I blame my scales...

Eek! I read this before I saw the turn. I can't believe you killed Raargh! I don't understand really, your army routed long before, but your phoenix and crossbowmen just sat there blasting away.

Hurrah for Bogus!

Mever underestimate the power of the burd!

Honestly I'm suprised as well, looks like I'm still around for a turn or two yet!!!

Hmm, I think you may have spoken too soon there. Hurrah for dominion 10!

I almost cried when I saw it (yes I have spies).
First I just sat and tried to grasp that you killed the great Wyrm. And then Bogus on top of that, my God!
Now Bogus and his men own the castle... LOL.

hehe, what can you do but laugh : )

Okay here's what screwed me (other then being a dom3 noob)

1. Choosing a dorment non SC pretender with not so great dominion.

2. Having 2 unrest events one after another at my home province, therefore killing my cash flow.

3. Bogus.

I did have a lucky 80 militia men join my cause event the turn Man attacked which helped in the siege/battle etc

gg guys, next time!

Did you take a high bad luck scale? Luck -3 I've learned is really evil if you don't have anything to counter balance it with.

Oh, and thank you for the funny messages you sent us. They really made a difference for me in the enjoyment of the game. Sad that you are gone (I should have saved you).

No you spent your energy whacking your entirely harmless neighbour. Iron will against iron armour - a couple of my commanders need therapy and new limbs .....

Hi everyone - sorry for staling a second time. Somehow got the time wrong - not by much but enough. So Man's pretender has grabbed two provinces while I did nothing. So I guess I will just try lash out blindly and hope for the best.

My apologies again guys.

Man's pretender falls again. Now I just have to beat off that one, itty bitty army, and crush that other one and catch up with the remaining couple and Pythium will triumph http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Or fall in a big heap http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Should focus on not to staling another turn.

Hold on Ulm, please ....

So much for not staling http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif. I can't seem to connect to this game at the moment.

Screen just sitting waiting for game info. I was able to have a turn hosted at the same place (thanks Gandalf - I guess I am an example of one of those people taking up too many spaces) only minutes before.

Hopefully it will resolve itself in due time.

Still can't get past waiting for game info.

Oh man, that sounds really frustrating Digress.

The "waiting for game info" error happens from time to time, and effectively crashes the program. Once it's happened it won't fix itself. The solution is just to open a new window and try again. If you're really unlucky it'll happen again, but I've never had it happen three times in a row.

As to why it happens, I don't know.

Have you even managed to see this turn? You should try to if you have any chance to try connecting again, quite a lot happened.

Thank you Digress for "liberating" my capitol. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
And yes, I am holding on (barely).

If it wasn't for that spell "fog warriors" I would've been on the green... grrr http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Our generous host (thanks Gandalf) reset the game and then I could connect, complete the turn and watch the disaster unfold (ALL WITHOUT STALING). My noble pretender then fell under a hail of arrows and then massed vine ogres arrived en masse and reduced some other stuff to a fine mince.

I knew I had forgotten to hand out all the magic items (whoops !!) and had perhaps a little too much faith in the spell arrow fend.

Regarding Ulm, you see I finally did arrive to help out http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif Its what good allies do, they come through when the going gets tough .... and the game is basically unwinnable http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Having a repeat of my connection problems - I will persist in attempting to connect.

Songs frequently sung at the pubs in proud Ulm:

The all classic
"Brothers unite with glory we fall!"

And the newcomers
"Knight in the fog ate my dog"
"No sleep at the keep"

And of course the ever popular tune, "Lost in a sea of vines"

There are very few Pythians able to sing these days. I am willing to play to the bitter end - might last one more turn, two if I am lucky.

I was lucky - have squeezed out a couple more. I think a learnt a few things during the course of the game - hopefully it will improve me as a player.

Man is the undisputed victor - hail the beast http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
