View Full Version : MRL tank bazed bug?

Some time ago I have noticed strange property of the rocket launchers, based on tanks (RL T34 Calliope and RL M17 Whizbang) : they launch HE shells of the own 75mm and 105mm guns, during artillery phases, together with rockets! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif As a result for example "Calliope" has 118 shells instead of 60 and rate of fire increases for 1/3.
Except for that , efficiency HE shells against light armored vehicles above than rockets.
Please correct this if it possible!

If a unit is of a unit class that is capable of indirect fire, than all weapons that qualify will fire.
Indirect fire is a capability of the unit class and not the weapon.
Some OOBs have these as direct fire units only, but some OOB designers have made them indirect fire classes. what the correct approach for the SP games is - who knows http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
However - simply making them say CS-tank class has problems if they were say used in a scenario as a pre-game bombardment.
We will have a look into the matter.

I noticed one other odd thing about this unit its weapon the "7.2in Rocket", weapon 228 has an accurracy of 8 maybe this should be the same is the rest of the rockets in the game at 0 or maybe 1. Not sure why some get 1 and others 0.
Best Regards Chuck.

One solution would be to shut off the 75mm or 105mm gun when useing the tank as a Rocket Launcher. I've done this in the past and turned the Main Gun back on once the Rockets are expended.
Hope this helps.
