Put me down as the alternate. Sign me up. I'll take Arcosephale. Or Helheim as a second choice.

Please post here and send me a private message if you are interested in having one of the two slots that I haven't received a pretender for. If you can get me a pretender first then you can get the slot.

True I got a good position. Your luck here, I am a total beginner. But, because there is a "but" :

I believe Vanheim has "sailing"... Tien chi *may* got a pretender to send troops underwater... And seas often don't worth so much gold. Some people have good starting positions too... on earth far from other nations which means plenty of gold, ressources, and gems for them... But I got a bad feeling for the three nations in the south west. They will probably rush on each other... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/Injured.gif

BTW I had a problem : I had to add an underscore between "neZ" and "PBEM" to see the game appear in the list. I hope this slight modification is harmless.

The eyes of the giants are hollow, and their faces grim. They drink bitter liquids to forget the fact they are less than the ones who came before. The winds of winter no longer blow, and the last son of lost Niefelheim has long since departed.

A standing stone is now the target of their worship, a monument to loss. It casts a shadow on them. Bestial wrath and resolve of blackest iron grips some, but they are a minority: most know in their hearts that the Rimtursar will never return, and the race of giants belongs to a world soon past.

They are eager to transmute their silent suffering to roaring anger and brutal violence. Fear them.

thraveboy
March 11th, 2007, 07:28 PM
Yeah, sorry about the naming. The game appears as "neZ PBEM" within Dom3 but the folder is named "neZ_PBEM" since some filesystems don't like spaces in the file names.

Deep into the sea, in a sunken temple, there was an oceanian prietress. She was old, and her gills were moving slowly. Before her, there were sirens, mermens and capricorns. The prietress opened her mouth and a weird aquatic voice could be heared :
"My beloved people, the waves are talking to me and they said that Caelum is in great danger. If nothing is done, the giant feet of Jotunheim will crush these soft people in a matter of months. May be the half-birds should stop believe in a false god ?
- Should we do something about it, asked a capricorn
- I really don't know, answered the prietress, we can build a great empire, amass huge amount of gold, but we are far from everything and I doubt, us, oceanians will get in the next era.
- Do you have loose your faith ?
- No, but in this case, what can we do ? Jotunheim is far in the west and our armies are still weak."
The meeting ended, and some of the listeners left in anger...

Things are looking particularly bleak for the Arcosephale. The giants have invaded with a force of over a hundred of their warriors.

A call has been sent out for aid from our neighbors. Unfortuntately, our only potential ally is preoccupied and unable to lend us a hand. Arocsephale fears mightily that the giants have chosen a glorious path which will lead them to ulimate victory in this game.

Long live the diaspora of Arcosephale!

Please, it's surely not our fault you were soft and succulent. You hate the giants because they crushed your feeble nation! We took your lands and your women!

Well tough luck! The weak fall, the strong crush, eat and drink - drink mead strong enough to knock a puny human unconscious if they but drain a single Jotun cup.

StrictlyRockers

The giants are mean and nasty. And not just mean and nasty, but also big, and also mean and nasty. And they are also very big.

The last time an Arcosephalian attempted to drink mead from a Jotunheim cup, he fell in and nearly drowned himself. He was pulled out and survived, but he wound up with a nasty case of frost bite from the cold. And his head has never been the same since.

The stone we worship is stone no longer, and it's shadow covers all the world. False gods will suffer in a sea of darkness and bitter ice, they will scream until they lose the ability to form sounds, until they forget why they suffer. Suffer endlessly. Burn is not a forgiving god.

The Woodsmen raise their axes to the sky and howl with mad fury, howl till blood spatters from their lips. It was their faith that made this ultimate triumph possible, and the world shall bow before them in reverence.

Nice job Teras.
Success doesn't come by chance.

And thank you again to Thraveboy for hosting so seriously this game. A PBEM played in this way is like playing on a server.

Thanks for playing. I'll host another one once when I come
back from a weekend trip the week after next. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

This was a very good PBEM game. very prompt.

Im just bummed that it ended before I did anything. Usually i get agressive too early and get screwed over. I didn't attack a single player this game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Thanks to thraveboy for smooth sure hosting.

Eressil3,
I loved your sea werewolves BTW

That was just the first wave. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif You would have needed to take one of my VPs or have started raiding much earlier to change things.

I took a N9 bless planning to play very aggressively as the map was small and VPs needed to win so low. Worked very well, although the end was hastened by Pangaea leaving the fort in Ulm's home province completely undefended.

I wanted. But jumping out the water was hard. I think i picked the wrong scales and I started to search for magic sites really too late. Mmmm... I'm still a noob http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

BTW can you tell us who tried to hinder you beside me and the ones you attacked first ?

Pangaea invaded about the same time you started raiding. My intention was to attack Vanheim for the final VP, but Pangaea's attack caused a change of plans.

No one else did anything that I noticed. Was kind of surprised at that.

I was very surprised that your giants never fell in love with my sirens. I did almost 10 attempts to lure your commanders into the sea => Not even one was a success (i wonder if this sentence is really english...) !

Your giants really don't care about bare chested women /threads/images/Graemlins/Woman2.gif with fishtail /threads/images/Graemlins/Fish.gif

Lolo, next time we have to be faster.. We were lost in making plan while the Giants were going to win.
