I downloaded this demo thinking.....well I can have some fun with the demo, but will never buy the full blown.

Now I'm not so sure.............

I'm sure people here will tell you to buy the full version. I personally think at such a high price it requires more thought than most game purchases. Are you going to be able to get your money's worth out of it? Are you going to play MP games? SP is fun, but many people find it gets old too fast due to the AI.

I'd say buy it like a shot! From the demo, I thought it was an okay game, seemed interesting, and maybe I'd buy it because I like supporting independent developers. But wow, how much fun have I got out of it since then! There really is enormously more interest and depth to it than any other game I've played, and I have played a lot over the years. Even my girlfriend, who scorns both computer games and fantasy, has got so into it by watching over my shoulder that she's ended up buying it!

It is fairly expensive, but in terms of fun per pound (or dollar or euro or whatever), it's definitely my best computer game purchase.

Man, I sound like such a fanboy!

Have you managed to get that demo game going yet jimkehn?

Llamabeast, I have not got an MP demo going yet.

This is not my preferred genre. I am more of a historical military gamer. I have never had a problem with fantasy, just not my fave. But, since the depth of this game is seemingly endless, I am strongly considering this purchase. And, yeah, it is expensive, even as games go. But not all that much more than most good wargames.

I never suggest that anyone buy this game right off the bat.
I ALWAYS suggest that they get the demo (like you did).

Because I find that some people just cant get interested in it from the demo. It is a very different kindof strategy game. But IF they can get thru the demo and still like the game then I highly recommend buying it. It almost always lives on your machine for years. Other games of the same price tend to last about a month on my machines so the price of this game doesnt bother me in the slightest.

I was in the same boat, those few days between making the decision, ordering and actually getting it are a pain in the arse. You KNOW you're getting it, you still play the demo and you get really, really frustrated with the "game over".

Jutetrea...I know what you mean....Ya can't even look things over to see how you did after the game. It's over, man, and it is REALLY over. Back to desktop. Ya know what I mean?
