View Full Version : Vamps spamming raise dead with no corpses

Hmmm, not sure if this is an issue for any other death mages (haven't played many yet), but I'm playing LA Ulm and after amassing a good amount of vampire counts (2D 2B) I've run into a pretty irritating behavior. The spell casting AI, if given no other order will only cast raise dead - even if there are no corpses present and thus the spell has no effect. Pretty irritating to fly 20 mages in and have them do absolutely nothing as trivial forces march up and poke them in the eye. I can get around it a bit by scripting them, but not much you can do after turn 5. Anybody else running into this?

yeah death mages tend to do that, unfortunately.

There is similar behavior with pan priests casting quick roots with no manikin or vine creatures of any type in the army, and earth mages casting armor boosting spells on units with no armor. Very irritating. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Yea, all death mages do it. It would be better if raise skeletons was given priority, as I believe they do not need corpses.

This has been reported in the bug list. Hopefully it will be addressed in the next patch.

Sometimes also scripted with powerful spells affecting whole combat, like "Darkness", death mages prefere to raise dead if the opponent's army is not big enough.

That's the spell casting AI working as designed.
