Velusion - C'tis
BanderLover - Ulm
Jazzepi - Midgard
Digress - Jomon
Hadrian II - Man
cupido2 - Arcoscephale
LoloMo - Ermor
Dedas - Utgard
Shovah32 - T'ien Ch'i

WSzaboPeter - Agatha
Fal - Pangaea
Tyrant - Abysia
Evilhomer - R'lyeh
tromper - Caelum
coobe - Patala
FAJ - Marignon

Nation Selection: Once the game is full I will randomly assign nations out. When signing up players may request up to TWO nations they DON’T want. These are nations you DO NOT want to play. Sign up in this thread.

After nations are assigned I’ll need you to email your pretender password to velusion@at@sbcglobal.net. This is because I’ve had issues with the Master Password working in the past AND so we can give your nation to another human player if you disappear. This is not optional. If you PM me your password make sure and include your email address if you would like to be included in the diplomacy email distribution list or want email notifications when turns host.

Once I have your password I’ll send you the ip/port of the server where you can upload your pretender. Once everyone is uploaded I’ll send out an email listing everyone’s email contact for diplomacy purposes and add you to the game turn email notification list (unless you specify otherwise). Then the game starts.

Quickhost will be enabled. The first 12 turns will be set to have a 24 hour autohost – so expect to do at least a turn a day for the first couple weeks. After that the timer will increase to 48 hours though it is hoped that players will normally still be able to play every 24 hours, with the occasional missed day. As turns take longer in late game this might increase further. As players get eliminated we can be more flexible with extensions and extended absences, but not in the first few weeks.

A small version of the map we will be using is here (http://67.66.187.69/dominions3/discordancesmall.jpg). The map has been tweaked to ensure (hopefully) that all players that start on land have at least four land neighbors and all players that start at sea have 3 sea neighbors. I have also tweaked the ocean connections so that separated sea provinces connect to each other across straits (hence all seas that look like they should be connected are linked). This map is a result of lots of random generation and a wee bit of photoshopping. If we do not fill, we will be using a smaller map.

Players who wish to surrender (resign) should simply let me know so we can find a replacement or turn the nation to computer controlled. If you will be unavailable for longer than a few days please let me know. Failing to do you turn twice a in a row without letting us know will get you put on AI. If I think you are missing too many turns (e.g. 3 out of the last 6) I will put you on AI. Once (*ahem* - If) I am eliminated I’ll rely on the remaining players to tell me when something needs done with the game.

Back at ya Evilhomer, though i do not think we actually fought in the other games.

FAJ and i have exchanged nations since our last war. Warning FAJ- unlike you i will actually use Blood and not fight left handed as you did http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Have to say LA Aby is not on my list of favorite nations, but that's the way is goes in a random game, i'll do the best i can.

Sorry - no delays this early in the game. It does move to 48 hour hosts after this next turn though, so you two will probably only miss one host at most (if that).

You might try asking a fellow player not involved in the game to fill in for you (they will probably only need to do one turn).

Ermor -

Your incursion into the recently secured mountains to our South could perhaps be forgivable. However, it was clear that our valiant forces had eliminated heretics in Gnome Peaks prior to yours. While perhaps the Harab elders could be convinced otherwise, as our mutual pact is vital, the returning messages from the Mammoth riders decry your blunder, and it is causing discord amongst the Seraph underlings.

We ask that your forces leave these peaks, whose populace was celebrating our victory for a mere week before your invasion. Asna is being consulted, but her efforts in repelling the odd nations to the North and West are delaying response.

If you do so, we will remember, and the South shall be the domain of the once great Ermor, once these stranded celebrants are recovered.

If you do not. The Elders will congress and await word from Asna.

The Ermorian Council has reviewed the petition of the Nation of Caelum and has agreed with its merits.

In the interest of strengthening relations with our airborne neighbors, Ermorian troops have vacated Gnome Peaks. We have also respected the sanctity of your dead by burying them, as we realize that not all are appreciative of our gifts of rebirth.

May the resolution of this conflict further relations between our two nations.

Yes, you killed Ulvar, grandson of Fenrir, but now you have his smelly body in your capital! Ha ha!

Also, to anyone who would like to take the opportunity to attack me, know that I still have Urgrim, my prophet, grand champion of the recent deathmatch, ranked third in the hall of fame with no others than SC gods above him. He alone can defend my nation; one hand tied behind his back, drinking mead with the other. So I laugh at you puny humans. My people eat people like you for snacks before dinner. Ha ha!

Nevermind - you uploaded with the 3.08 patch which crashed the game.

You will have to redo your turn with version 3.06. If you already upgraded to 3.08 you'll need to install the game to a different location, patch it to 3.06 and do your turn (or just stale).

Don't worry as someone seems to do this every patch release. Just everyone keep in mind do NOT connect to the server with a 3.08 patch.

The server will be back up shortly.

Fal - you need to upload using a 3.06 client. If you upload with your patched 3.08 client you crash the server.

If you have upgraded your install and didn't back it up first the only way you'll be able to do your turn is if you reinstall Dom3 to a different folder, upgrade to the 3.06 patch and do your turn (probably want to copy the map over from your 3.08 install). Alternatively, if you don't want to mess with this you can just stale this one turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Edit: The turn will host in about an hour, at which point I'll upgrade the server to 3.08

As for other odd things happening this turn, I thought I was lucky. I have order1 and luck1, and I managed to get 3 good events this turn. My assumptions of my luck were shattered though, as when I checked my provinces, nearly 90% of all my mages got either diseased or mute. Even one that had just been recruited! Oddly enough, the ones spared from disease were already insane from R'lyeh. Even my poor poor advanced scout, Leric, who isn't even old, has two afflictions. Doomed to die far away from his home ground http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif.

All of this talk of a alliance against R'yleh has come far too late for warriors of Jomon.

After several large battles in which we were unable to defeat the mages from the seas to our south (they claim the stars but we cannot believe these abominations come from anywhere but the most primeval depths). No matter how many mad ones and assorted abominations we slew R'yleh mages survived and continued the throw Nether Darts at our rapidly diminishing ranks in battle after battle.

In a demonstration of the unwavering Jomonese honour code our finest mages have locked these accursed creatures in duels of the mind and have sacrificed themselves in an heroic attempt to avenge our fallen god, with some success (3 of our mages for each of theirs).

We hope others are able to avenge us and remember us

They came from the sea
Our katanas cut deeply

Thanks for the game everyone - for me it has just been one big getting ground into the dust by R'yleh whilst being completely unable to land a punch on his starspawns(you know, the valuable, difficult to replace quickly units). I did manage to work out how to kill piles of R'yleh's freespawn chaff whilst being nether darted to death http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/fear.gif

Hooray for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I surrender to R'lyeh despite never encountering their zany forces. Nice job. I never once saw anything that happened to the West there, but apparently there was too much infighting and they ignored you or somethin'. Those two crazily good globals up is too much even if everyone ganged. Silly bunnies.

If everyone else chooses to slog on, please find a replacement or set me AI. Thanks for hosting, Velusion!

And no, you can't have my gems. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Ermor offers to overcast the Arcane Nexus, with the profits to be shared among the gem contributors. Minimum total astral gems collected should be above 300 before I attempt this.

Oh shush, the game is far from over. I'm sure the lot of us can come up with 500 astral gems http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Fal

yeah it's true Nexus is pretty much a game ender, way too overpowered imo. But given the circumstances that R'lyeh has many connected sea provinces as home base I reckon we won't be able to stop him even with a successful dispel/overcast.

I will have a lvl 9 astral mage available in 1-2 more turns and I can probably attempt to cast it too.

I don't see how its a game ender if you all join up to overcast it... Just need an honest caster.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I believe I'm as honest as they come http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I will add that if any one of the Arcane Nexus, Inc. shareholders would be eliminated, his share would be distributed among the remaining shareholders. The exact amounts of each member's contribution will be PMed to each shareholder. The communal ownership of Arcane Nexus will have no bearing whatsoever on Ermor's diplomacy. Even if you are at war with me, I will still send you your share of the Arcane Nexus.

Well I'm more inclined to cast a dispel, it would be fair to everyone.

A dispel would not be fair at all, as everyone would try not to contribute and just hope someone else makes the sacrifice.

********* Your Attention Please ************

As the second most powerful nation in the world, the Nation of Ermor announces the following Decree to all the inhabitants of Discordance:

ERMORIAN DECREE OF THE SUMMER OF THE FIFTH YEAR OF ASCENSION:

1. Whereas the Nation of Ermor has NAPs with Caelum, Ulm, Mictlan, R'lyeh, Atlantis, and Tien Chi;

2. Whereas the the Foulspawns of R'lyeh has cast the Terrible, Evil, Nasty, Incredibly Vile Arcane Nexus;

3. Whereas a Proposal has been put forth to Overcast Arcane Nexus using pooled resources, and with subsequent profits to be shared among contributing nations;

4. Whereas there can be no neutrality in the matter of the Terrible, Evil, Nasty, Incredibly Vile Arcane Nexus (unless of course if its benefits are shared by all);

The Great Nation of Ermor hereby terminates all NAP with the above mentioned nations, specifically, Caelum, Ulm, Mictlan, R'lyeh, Atlantis, and Tien Chi. Expect Ermorian Legions to sweep across your lands in 3 months time. War is hereby declared also on Arcos, with which we do not have a NAP.

War with Ermor may be avoided by becoming a shareholder of Arcane Nexus Ermorian Version, Inc., Ltd., Pty. To become a shareholder, donate a minimum of 50 astral gems to the effort of overcasting Arcane Nexus. To the shareholders of Arcane Nexus Ermorian Version, Inc., Ltd., Pty, the Nation of Ermor offers 25 month NAP, plus a share of the gem profits in proportion to your ownership of Arcane Nexus Ermorian Version, Inc., Ltd., Pty..

The NAP with Pangaea is preserved as Pangaea has pledged to support the overcast. If there are any nations that we have neglected to mention, please do not feel insulted, we declare war on you too.

To the Nation of R'lyeh, notwhitstanding your casting of the Terrible, Evil, Nasty, Incredibly Vile Arcane Nexus, you are also invited to participate in the Initial Public Offering of Arcane Nexus Ermorian Version, Inc., Ltd., Pty., and the same pacts will be applied to you.

To the inhabitants of Discordance, we apologize for this earthshaking announcement. We promise to make this period of conflict as quick as possible, although sadly we can not guarantee that it will be painless. Should this Ermorian ploy fail, the results are expected to be known in 5 months or less. Ermor will then concede defeat, and offer all its assets to R'lyeh, the obvious victor. The Aspiring God of Ermor will then turn over the task of overseeing the lands of the dead to the Omnipotent God of Bytes. The remaining inhabitants of Discordance may then seek to fight on at their leisure whosoever they wish.

Addendum:
Arcane Nexus Ermorian Version, Inc., Ltd., Pty will only be established with a minimum capital of 500 astral gems. The company will not be established if pledges total less than this amount.

I doubt if the nation of R'lyeh will crumble into the sea because we overcast arcane nexus, but to each their own propaganda. If you see it as one or the other, make your choice then! We promise not to neglect your lands! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

although it may appears Ermor is the second strongest nation on graph, I don't see it as a particular threat at the moment, in fact it is rather fragile. So imo to make above so called decree was really not such a good idea, it would have been more effective if the leader of Ermor attempted to awake his fellow nations' anti-r'lyeh awareness, instead blackmailing all of us for the personal gain.

I guess that's the very nature of the undead. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Tien Chi is about to die either due to a dominion kill or simply being conquered by the evil nation of R'lyeh so, with our death imminent(ie: next few turns) we here-by open our borders to the world and invite all players to come and conquer our lands.

Provinces of interest may include:
Storn Woods(182) which produces 3 Death gems and enables the recruitment of necromancers(D2 no randoms).
Ophaleph(145) which produces 3 Air gems and 1 Astral gem.
Monherboa(113) Producing N1F1 and allowing witch recruitment.

Other provinces:
Birman Heights(176) producing D1S1N1
Nydian Ranges(166) producing D2W1
Terrym(164) producing S1
Assad(143) producing S2A2
Feral Woods(127) producing D2 and enabling ghoul summoning

Tien Chi(129) is also yet to be conquered although with several hundred of R'lyehs troops outside it should not take long.
As a warning to Ermor my capitol does contain many priests who were attempting to prevent dominion kill so losses are to be expected.

The nation of Tien Chi also forged the following artifacts earlier in the game:
Fenris' Pelt
The Chalice(fun fun fun)
Winter Bringer
Woundflame
The Boots of Calius the Druid
Nethgul
The Astral/Death Twin Spear
The Sword of Aurgelmer(very fun)

We also have in our possesion:
1 Enchanted Sword
1 Faithful
1 Dusk Dagger
1 Light Weight Scale Mail
1 Dancing Trident
1 DemonBane
1 Pair of Boots of Stone
1 Eye Shield
1 Herald Lance
1 Starshine Skullcap
1 Rime Hauberk
1 Blue Dragon Scale Mail
1 Chain Mail of Displacement
1 Bear Claw Talisman
1 Ring of Tamed Lightning
1 Lead Shield
1 Jade Armour
1 Pair of Winged Shoes
1 Ring of Regeneration
1 Skullstaff
1 Thistle Mace
1 Moonvine Bracelet
1 Ring of Sorcery
2 Horror Helms
2 Pendants of Luck
2 Shadow Brands

30 Fire Gems, 139 Air Gems, 50 Water Gems, 17 Earth Gems, 104 Astral Gems, 198 Death Gems and finally 45 Nature Gems.

We know we wont be able to spend our resources well in our current position and with dominion kill coming up we may not get to use them. All the items, gems and artifacts listed must go so either PM me or post a reason here of what you want and why and I shall consider it.

LoloMo
August 8th, 2007, 07:53 PM
LA Ermor of course would like to have possession of the unique artifacts, especially the Chalice and Sword of Aurgelmer. The ring of sorcery and other path boosters would also be very welcome.

Any gems received would also be used to destroy the Evil Rlyeh, whom we will fight until the end.

We thank the noble masters of Tien Chi for their help in putting up the Arcane Nexus, and assure them that their spirits will live on in the Arcane Nexus, and that we will eventually triumph over the alien scum. (I always wanted to say that, he he).
