View Full Version : Appearing armies?

Something odd happened in a game recently. Around turn 14 or so, Caelum appeared out of nowhere and attacked my capital with about 200 men that I hadn't seen the turn before. Deer tribe warriors, amazons, some Caelum flyers. At first I assumed it was a stealth army--for all I know amazons are stealthy--but then I spotted a regular Commander amongst the enemy forces. Dawn of Dominions map, 8 Mighty AIs. How did Caelum drop that army on me?

Maybe there was a province connected to your capitol that you didnt notice? It seems too early for army teleportation spells so that seems out of the question.
Honestly im not really sure what happened here.

First off, shame on you for playing Helhiem against the poor AI. Turn on the 'neighbors' filter and you'll see why it happenned.

Try selecting 'neighbours' under map filters. I often miss connections otherwise... in fact I recently missed one even with it on.

Yeah, I know Helheim's got a rep for being overpowered and it makes me feel kind of guilty sometimes. I keep trying other nations but then I think of another cool use for Svartalfs and I'm back to Helheim. Love those little guys.
And yep, sure enough, my province was connected to another province on the other side of the map. Thanks!

Oh, I hate that! Jotenhiem got me the same way- the map was wraparound and the giants just demolished me! Oh, well. Now I leave my filter on.
