View Full Version : Modifying Default Army Setup commands

Any way to do it?

I'm just thinking it would be useful to have a subscreen in the army setup screen for each category of unit.

Everything starts off clumped in the middle by squad - eww. Scripts can be ctrl'd but not placement (afaik)

For example:
Categories:
Cav
Inf
Fly
Ranged
Mage
mixed

Cav would get a sub screen with a little white dot on a green field... the default placement for all new cav squads. For instance, I would set mine about 2/3 of the way back on hold/attack rear. Every time I formed a new cav squad they would default to that position.

Mages would be where it would shine though if we ever got to micro them a bit more

Or even just a way to influence the overall default command for every unit..instead of bunching everything in the middle.

I'd actually be happy if you could just rearrange the order in which commanders appeared. As it is, if I have more than 10 mages or so I have to scroll all over the place to manage them, and I'd like to instead see, "Oh, here's my two arty mages with Communion Master, and here are their ten Communion Slaves, and here are the regular infantry commanders."

For such a great game I'm willing to put up with a little bit of hassle, though. Maybe in Dom4, or maybe Johan will suddenly fall in love with UI design. : )
