Can you change the text color in this game?

The text color in battles is the most annoying thing in the game. They need to make it red or something so it is readable.
Is there any way to change it?

I've never had any problems reading it.

Anyone else got this problem? Maybe it's something to do with your settings? Brightness, contrast, detail settings?

And to answer your question: No, not via simple modding.

It's because the text is white when the background is white or sometimes the text is black when the background is black.
You must have noticed this, unless theres something wrong with my game.

As a quick fix, it might help to use the camera view keys (up, down, page up, page down) to move the background around so a better color is in place behind the text.

No, never noticed it. I played a game called mount and blade that had this problem in spades, so I know how annoying it can be, but I've honestly never noticed it in Dom3. Maybe we just have different brightness etc settings?

It is an issue and I have mentioned it before. I work around it by moving the camera view to where the text and background play nice (as vfb suggested above).

I place the mouse cursor on the text. This makes it red and easier to see.

You can change the text color that is displayed in maps. Probably not a big help but it seemed worth mentioning in this thread case someone is searching on text color.

I changed Opacity in the Video Settings panel to about 95. It helps a bit.

The problem could be due to the map you use, due to the stars on black background, or the user interface itself. Whichever your problem is, you can find alternatives from the maps/mods subforum.

EDIT: oops, I didn't realize it was text color in BATTLES. No way to change that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Sorry about the useless bump.

I have this problem in spades, and would very much appreciate an answer to it. It mostly happens when the game chooses black text and there is a mountainous or forest background. Its like the game is expecting the light background of the sky, but the dark background of the forest/mountains really makes the text unreadable. BTW, I haven't tried experimenting much, but I've been thinking that lowering my graphics settings might actually alleviate this problem.

You can hit 1-9 in the battle for an immediate graphics quality change too.
