I've tried to play dominions 3 on my computer for a long time, however everytime I end my turn the game either freezes or crash with the following message in the console:
Ngot gick fel!
ConvArmyNbr: error!
Ngot gick fel!
ConvArmyNbr: error!
Aborted (core dumped)
I've tried several solutions: tried to delete ~/dominions3 folder, to start new games with diffrent types of AI... but none helped. Can anyone help me with this? I'd be grateful...
I'm running Ubuntu edgy.

Send the savegame to Illwinter by email to the address info(at)illwinter(dot)com (address broken due to security reasons) or attach it to the forum post.
I'm not conversant enough with Linux issues for Dom3 to give any more advice. However, checking that you have up to date libraries could fix this if it's dependent on them.

this issue is not with the save games only - as i wrote in my post. even *new* games crash in this way...

Did you patch up and then patch backward?
or using a mod?

Hmm, almost missed that. I'll echo Dedas: Happy Birthday, Gandalf!
khaal, I meant that if you were to zip up one of these game folders and send it to IW, they could perhaps glean something from it. If not, then it's time to check what Gandalf and Arralen mentioned here and also see if all the necessary library files on your Linux install are up to date. Wrong libraries cause problems, I've been given to understand. You'll need to ask someone else for Linux advice, though, I'm not just a newbie but an actual n00b with that OS (almost any distro).

Thing is, i havent been using a modified .exe (obviously since i need linux binaries...) and im not using any mods - only vanilla dom3. The only thing i have done is to patch it - forward - to the latest version.
I have a copy of it stored on my external HD, and i have copied it to my laptop from there. does that make a diffrence? because i dont remember there was a install process when i installed it on my desktop... (and i dont have my desktop with me, im going to be outside the country for 2 more months).
oh, and happy belated birthday http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

you might do the ldd command on the linux executable that you are using, then do locates on those libraries to make sure that they are all there.
Or run the game as a text mode server and turning on the debugging switches, then log into the game from another copy so you can see if it gives you an error
