So, do the Robe of Missile Protection, Arrow Fend and Arrow Shield stack, or do these 3 all cap out at 80% missile protection?

It gives a trait (the little clicky air shield icon down with all the other stuff like regen, glamour, stealth, etc.) so I'm guessing that it's not checked more than once.

Then again, you can have more than 100 resistance to something... but i've never seen Air shield above 80%... have to check it out.

I imagine IF you wanted it over 80% then the only way would be bless + item, but I'm noit sure that will even work. 80 might be the hard cap.

I seem to be understanding the question differently..
robe of missile prot + arrow fend = air shield effect
shield = armor/defense effect
In that sense atleast, yes, a shield (armour) is a different calc to the air shield effect.

Possible stacks for protection from normal arrows include:
Ethereal, Luck, ArrowFend OR AirShield, TwistofFate, Storm, an actual shield of any type, and I might have forgotten one or two.

I'll add that generally a shield has a higher than 80% chance of protecting you from a missile; the reason you'd want the Air Shield items is that shields lose effectiveness with fatigue, so mages are better off with Air Shield. IIRC the formula is
12 + DRN + (2*Shield parry) - (Fatigue/10)
vs.
10 + DRN + (2 if magic)
But on a normal unit, a regular old Parry 4 shield is usually better than an 80% Air Shield.
